    Evening everyone

Thought I would pop in and do a quick update..... Im back at home now -I was all set for my operation to be done last Friday, but on thursday 2 folks from the forces DHS appeared at my bed to tell me they had cancelled my op  -the reasoning was that as what I have is rare (because its mis-diagnosed so often.... 8 years and 4 hospitals wrong until this point)..they couriered my scans over to the specialist an Guys n St Thomas's to see if he agreed with the diagnosis and suggested treatment... so home I came ..not impressed as it took me ages to talk myself into it :o.... and was told I would get a call -which I got yesterday ...and as the uk specialist agreed -my op is back on again... so I will be going back in on the 26th -can't go any earlier as 1 of the specialists I need isn't free until then .... guess I should be glad that I am getting so much attention :rotfl:
on the grocery front.... hubby has been good at running back n forward to pick up bits I wanted -this time Im getting everything before I go in ;)
The meals in there are great, and only 2 folks to a room -and we had our owns seperate patio doors and balconies and ensuite bathroom *ooohhh posh* -a trolley full of things to make drinks and bottled water is always in the corridor -so me n hubby made drinks in thermal beaker and sat out -it was lovely and saved us €1.49 a drink -twice a day :j....see some habbits are here to stay :rotfl:
Im not quite sure how much has been spent this month -but I know that there is still some of what I left in the house in the tin :D

Just wanted to say thankyou for all the kind thoughts .....will pop in later -after I have caught up...
Hope everyone is well and hugs to anyone in need

Picked up a few whoopsies this evening; nothing like yesterday’s bargains that were mere pence, but some beef mince, beef stir-fry & trout – 40% off the meat & 50% off the fish.

Tomorrow is the proper week 4 top-up shop & the weekly budget is £25, though I still have £35 left of the month’s budget at the moment. I’ve been working on the list on mysupermarket & it is currently coming in just under £22, though I think it does cover everything I will need until payday except more milk.

Hi everyone and nice to hear from you again MrsMcCawber. Hope you'll soon be on the mend.

Tonight's tea was a meat pie that I'd made and frozen a couple of weeks ago, with roast potatoes and vegetables. I deliberately cooked some extra vegetables to go in a rissotto tomorrow evening, along with leftover lamb from a roast and a bit of bacon.

Spent £9 in Waitrose on milk, bacon, and a few other bits and bobs that I did need. Trying to hold out until Saturday or Sunday for another visit to the supermarket.

    Hi all,

Mrs M - Thanks for posting an update. Annoying about your op being rescheduled, but at least they are making absolutely certain you are getting the right treatment

What can I do with spinach, aubergine, courgette and leek? Was thinking maybe a veggie curry or something? Don't mind buying extra ingredients, just need the inspiration!

I have about £26 + change to get me through the month now. Bah! Off to read the 'super cheap meals' threads :D Especially cause I am so low on storecupboard/freezer ingredients!
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment

Quick update, did a stock up shop on Tuesday and spent £57 which I was pretty chuffed about and means so far this month I've spent £93 of £180 budget. Got enough in for dinners for about 2 weeks so hopefully next week only need to buy fruit/veg, milk etc

Got 15 free-range eggs in Morrisons for £2 and 3 x bacon for 97p a pack, so think I can get at least 3-4 meals out of that. Made egg and bacon pie for dinner on Tues and still have half left to finish up. Also going to do a bacon&leek quiche and bacon omlette. Last night's dinner was chilli coconut chicken (recipe from my budget cookbook) - cheap and big favourite with me & OH.

Need a quick one tonight so going to do pasta with sauce (buy 1 get 2 free in morrisons)

By the way cansomeone tell me what DD and DS stand for please? I'm guessing its something to do with children but I can't work out the abbreviations!
    Sept GC lost track/£160 :(

Popped into Morrison's yesterday and got some Robinsons squash for 50p a bottle, beans are still 4 for £1 if anyone is after them, oh has finally realised why I buy so many when they're cheap, he only needs one can for a meal, I use 3 or 4 with the kids! Got a few other bits of fruit and veg (some good offers on assorted veggies). Also grabbed some of the Buitoni pasta at buy 1 get 2 free, will someone please remind me that I won't need any more pasta for a very long time now!

Today's pop to the shop will be for Christmas wine, finally Mr T have some good wines in the 3 for £10 offer, and I have lots of double up vouchers to use, so should cost pennies, will also be grabbing the case of Bud for £6 when you spend over £30 (or in my case hand over vouchers for over £30!) Now just need to find a good hiding place in the garage! Must buy bread flour and yeast too, else there will be no sarnies or toast or rolls or hm pasta (oh lordy, I really have pasta issues!).
GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£400
