I have to agree with the others it's never to early to start planning.

Having got engaged myself on New Years Eve we have decided to get married May 2011 and I have been panicking the last few weeks after a number of venues were already booked up for the weekend we wanted and even the registrar struggled to fit us in for a civil ceremony at the venue we eventually decided on ....... feeling very relieved today once they were both booked

Congratulations!! Find your venue, good ones are often booked two years in advance!

Hi there I'm getting married on the 14th July 2012 and booked the venue I know wot u mean when people look at u gone out when u say when ur getting married I come on here alot to look for tips and ideas has hoping it will help me alot. Ive been to 2 wedding fayres and they all look at u has though ur slightly mad for goin when u say the date but I like lookin but hate the pushy people there that wanna get to u 1st with wotever they r sellin mostly photographers and it so puts me off!

We started planning our April 2011 wedding in January 2009.

After a few months going round wedding fayres etc, I was fed up with people looking at us in shock when we mentioned the date. Everyone we spoke to then always followed up with, "well I suppose you can never book too early can you".

We also encountered some suppliers that were extremely rude as they believed that since we were planning so far ahead, there was no way we could be serious. Needless to say, they didn't get any business.

Given that our venue had already started booking up other couples when we did, no it was not too early to start and neither is it too early to start for 2012!

Hello all!!

I am getting married on 19th May 2012... specific date because it is my little brothers birthday who sadly passed away in 1990 so its a really important date. I have already booked the church because I desperately wanted this date and also the church because its where he is buried. On a lighter note, I am already planning what colours I want, flowers, venues because I am too excited to wait! I was hoping to grow my own flowers in my dad's allotment so at least I can have a test run next year! I still need to find a venue but am looking in the gloucestershire area and Owlpen Manor caught my eye.

Anyways, am looking forward to many happy posts on this site, good luck everyone and enjoy!

Hi, I am getting married April 2012. The only thing is the venue we want is £3600, but if we moved it to march 2012 it is only £2700.....Nearlly 1 thousand pound cheaper, so we are thinking of moving it to then!!

My fiance is wanting to get married March 2012 (or earlier if we've saved enough money up). I know how girls get about this kind of thing so I'm leaving her to it!

We've chosen the venue just haven't booked it yet so at least thats one thing ticked off!

Think we're aiming for 2012. It just seems so far away, but we're both terrible at making decisions so it's probably for the best!
