  • I'm getting married September 2012 And I started planning 6 months ago ;) No harm in being prepared early.

I would look at venues just to secure the date you want. It's only 2 years to go if you think about it.
What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..

    Congrats on setting the date!

It's never too early to start planning!

Do you know where you'd like to get married? The sooner you book it the better as there's more chance of getting the place you'd like.

I've been looking myself and I've been looking at THIS a lot

  • Never too early to start planning but as you have some time to go just be aware that you may change your mind on colour schemes etc etc a fair few times! I have and i have only been planning for 6 months and will get married this october, a year after i got engaged!

Take the time to look around on internet, shops etc and get good ideas of what you want.....

Have you thought about whether you want religious ceremony or civil ceremony? This may impact on what venue you choose - once that decision is made, if you are going for a religious ceremony, you may as well "book" your local church when you have set a date - thats one little thing out of the way...then start looking around for reception venues!

Have just read your reply - we dont ever go to church and i am not baptised/christened etc - none of that matters...not in our parish anyway! So ask your local vicar!
Have you any ideas on what you would like yet? Ideas for reception etc?

Oh, congratulations by the way! :T
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?
  • Just copied and pasted this from the Church of England website

"Congratulations! You're welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you go to church. And, marrying in church has never been easier thanks to a change in the law which means you now have more churches to choose from."

If you buy a wedding magazine, they often have guides on what to plan when, such as "A year before do this... six months before do this..." etc. Obviously some of them may not apply to you, for example I'm really not bothered about the font to use for the stationery... and some of them you may want to do earlier or later than the magazine says but they do mention pretty much everything so they do help. I can type one out for you if you want?

Hi, I'm not baptised and we don't attend Church, but we are getting wed at the Church in the village I grew up in. We don't live anywhere near it anymore either. so Just to say if you truely believe in and want a Chruch wedding you can have one : )
