I did join minimins but people weren't as friendly as here! oh and i do Weight Watchers but do not go to meetings. I usually weigh myself on wednesdays.

I am hoping to lose quite a bit of weight (as you can see in my signiture) but it is so daunting!!
I will try and get post my weight tomorrow!
    xx
4 stone in 10 months might be acheivable if you are lucky enough to be able to loose to the full 2 lbs a week / 8lbs a month that can be acheived with calorie intake 500 below what you burn.
I've managed to loose just over 2.5 stone in 8 months.
Check out the caloriecount.about.com web site linked at the beginning of this thread, sign up and enter you details. It's very helpful, will tell you what calorie in take to aim for based on age, gender, heigh, weight and normal level of activity. Then there is a database of foods and calories so you can log what your eating and keep a count of calories.
  • I will have to have a look at the calorie count website when I get home(got to do some work now lol:p)

I am thinking that for my long term weight loss I might try something my auntie suggested so that I can "see" how I am doing.
She suggested that I get 2 jars, one for weight loss and one for weight gained and for every lb (lost or gained) put in a £!! That way if I feel down if I put some back on then I can look at my jars and know that there is a difference between the 2 (or so I hope)!:D
I am hoping that I will be able to do this with the money I will save from not eating chocolate!!:rotfl:

    I've been Money Tipped!
filling in CC daily is proving much more useful to me than any food log I've ever done. The piechart and eat meter are such clear indicators, not something I would do myself ever, and yet are just a really clear guage. The activity log I also love....the fact such tiny activities can be put in and you can see the result next to your calorie intake is more useful than either figure alone.

I honestly think if I'd done this when the challenges first started Iwould be further along by now.

A similar wesite I like to use is www.foodfocus.co.uk, I find it very helpful. There's also www.tescotracker.com but I haven't looked at it for ages.

Something I used to do when loosing weight was every time I lost something I'd weigh cans of food and keep them all in a bag so I could actualy feel how much weight I'd lost. It's really good to see that even a few pounds are quite heavy. After I had my son I lost just over two stone, I gave up on the cans after a while as I would have needed too many, but my bag got lovely and heavy :rotfl:!! Also it was a good deterrant if I put on weight and had to take any cans out of the bag...
