......We had a good afternoon at the rugby yesterday- the weather was gorgeous and the Warriors won 24-18:j, with my favourite player Miles Benjamin (he's really fit;)) scoring a try right in front of us-hope the television cameras didn't catch me leaping about with my arms in the air:o

Did Sale play as badly as the BC website report said?! I don't think we're going to get into the playoffs this year, even with Jason 'Billy Whizz' Robinson as coach....but it's nice watching them warming up before a game & seeing Mark Cueto & Ben Cohen's legs!

Well we had a fab weekend at our friends' wedding yesterday - lovely hotel, beautiful setting near Macclesfield, gorgeous ceremony, and fab reception & night! DF & I had to fend off all the "so you're next, have you set the date yet?" type questions.....and yes we've set a date - but not which year! I now have very sore feet from standing all day in high heels and dancing all night :)

I've been to Mr T's on the way home, and picked up some y/s fish pie mix to go with the bag of King Edwards in the cupboard so will go & put that together soon in a Nigella recipe...also got some broccoli & stilton and y/s tomatoes & basil for making soup for my lunches this week.....had a nasty shock on Saturday when trying to buy a strapless bra to wear yesterday - apparently I am not a 34b, but a 32dd!! So having stood in a changing room in Debenhams in various bras surrounded by mirrors, I've decided I need to get into a better shape than the one I am in at the moment :p Then I need to buy new bras that fit correcly, rather than badly :o DF thinks it is something in the water  :rotfl: and so this month, Floss will be mainly shopping for new underwear! :D

Bargainbird - good news about your BiL - have had a quick "word" for his speedy recovery

Hugs to those who would like one

Essexgirl - hope your ds has a good birthday and feels better soon, and that your cat recovers well x

Bargainbird - good news about your bil, will keep remembering him in my prayers x

Redruby - how is your nephew getting on now, is he more settled? And wow at the price of the wedding trip, don't think my lot would be going either! x

Well I can report back on my butchery lesson now! oh was very patient and didn't roll his eyes at all, even said I was easy to teach! So I jointed each chook into leg quarters, breasts, and wings, also know how to separate legs and thighs if I want to do so in future! Have frozen all the portions ready for future use and boiled up the carcasses for yet more stock - oh was hinting heavily about chicken soup, so will make some up for him tomorrow! I was surprised just how easy it was, and how much profit must be made on chicken pieces!

Just made some more rolls for lunches tomorrow, no treats left though, so will have to ask dd2 nicely to make some whilst I'm at work! More washing has been done though and somehow the kitchen is still tidy - better look like that when I get home later!

Planning on a baking morning tomorrow as have lots of things I want to try out, and more hobnobs are required by dd3! Will also be last opportunity to do big batch for a few days, out tomorrow for lunch and to try out friends new hot tub, woohoo! And on spider duty on Wednesday, meant to be helping oh sort out his old stuff from his mum's attic as she's sold the house, but in reality it's cos he really hates spiders lol!

Have a good evening all xx

'Fraid they weren't brilliant Floss. Worcester have a massive fanbase-at home we're like a sixteenth player:D

Billy Whizz is coaching Sale? Didn't know that. I must say my main reason for going to watch rugby are the legs:D

BTw Thanks to JackieO and Taplady for the Mark Billingham tip. I've not read him before and I've bagged a 1p copy of the first Thorne book from Amazon. I was looking for something good to read:T
  • Evening all

I've had a long and tiring day in work. I've been assessing educational files for my young people. It's pretty boring work, involving lots of papercuts, photocopying and signing my life away. Had 12 do to, managed 9 today and will do rest later in week as I'm off work tomorrow and Wednesday :) It was made worse by the fact that there has been building work going on in my building, and it's noisy and smelly, plus it sets the fire alarm off all the time, so I have a headache :(

Anyways, I've got two days off so will chill and relax and hopefully my headache will finally go away.

Jacket spud, cheese and coleslaw for tea, and then I'm going to watch the new tv series Flashforward to Five to see what all the hype is about!

    Have a good evening

Well what a time lots of you are having at the mo, will just send a huge collective hug to everyone and hope that all gets much better soon!
I couldn't have said it better! Gentle ((((HUGS)))) for each and every one of my online friends who wants or needs one today.
I'm with you PupleIvy - I try to plan FOR leftovers (but usually when DH's kids are around there aren't any!).
LOL Same with Mr LW; I swear he was a labrador in a previous life!

I seem to have been busy all weekend, but can't for the life of me remember achieving anything much - apart from shoehorning another 3 plastic boxes of various goodies into a freezer I thought was already full to bursting!

Today has been a baking day - bread rolls, quiche, and a pie with the last of the liberated apples. Mr LW will be in from w*rk in a few minutes, so I'd better log off and start putting eating utensils out (we'll have some of the quiche for dins).
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Roving reporter signing in:

Last night we were at Dunkerque, and tonight at Chateauroux, about on a level with Moiliere but further inland - stood on the balcony and gave her a wave not sure if she saw me though!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rolleyes:

Journey not going quite as planned, and nowhere near as far as we planned to be, but nothing spoiling so no probs.

DH just dragging me out for a meal, mentioned something about red wine, so I will try to fill in details later.

Hugs to those not feeling on topof the world. :grouphug:

Hi Hun, He was at a place in Wales, where the lady was being paid £600 per week  to look after him because of his problems, its a long story but basically he was supposed to be having counselling and teaching on a one to one basis, but she was pocketing the money and he was not having any of it , anyway his behaviour went downhill and he ended up smashing a window and swearing at staff, and so has now been move to this other place for 6 weeks while they decide what to do with him.

He is 16 this week, and tbh I think they don't really know what to do with him, I hate to say it but i think he may end up in a secure unit, and I believe it will all be down hill from there. A lot of his problems are all down to the way he was bought up, my brother and wife have 3 other boys, all of whom seem to be going the same way , the mum is just not interested once they are no longer babies, she is more interested in making her house look like a Laura Ashley shop

Opps sorry for the rant :o

Meant to say earlier Happy Birthday to Essex boy xx

Halight hope you are ok xx

Thriftlady - hope you enjoy the book - I've read them all and today I spotted another Mark Billingham at the library that I havent read so I plan to get that one whe I've finished the pile of books by my bed:)(its not a Thorne book but still looks good)

JackieO - not got much of the book to go either!

Redruby - I hope your poor nephew gets the help he needs - it must be very worrying for you and your DH x

Bargainbird - glad that your Bil is slightly better and breathing on his own.

Have had tea, cleaned up and now we're popping up to the dairy to get DH load ready for morning then its home to watch the second part of Waking The Dead which was brilliant last night!

I have a dilemma about what to watch at 9pm tonight!! Either Waking The Dead, which was fantastic yesterday, or the new programme Flashforward on Five!!

I know I can watch either on iplayery things later/tomorrow but I can't decide which to watch first!
