'Morning all!
Not really had time to read & catch up, but noticed that lots of people had a bad night last night - me too! In fact that is 2 bad nights in a row, so I am feeling far from chirpy this morning I'm afraid. Both nights DH has been out, but I have felt too tired to go along so had 'early nights', but then he's woken me up when he comes in and I've been awake for hours feeling awful - bad stomach pains and feeling sick.
We have DH's #1 (18yo) son staying at the moment, since last Thursday. He is serious about not going back to his mum & (drunken) stepdad's this time and has had appointments with school counsellors, connections and the Jobcentre. Unfortunately it turns out that he would be entitled to more in the way of benefits if he didn't have his part-time job (how much sense does that make!?!) I have been very impressed with the mature way DSS is handling the situation. He wants to get a bedsit or go into a shared house while he finishes his A levels, and has now decided that he DOES want to go to Uni (apparantly it was mainly his mum convincing him that he didn't want to go, and telling him that she would not support him if he did - !!!!!!!?! Every time I think she can't get any worse, she does!). We'd love to help him financially, but unless the CSA decide DH can pay his ex less now (which doesn''t look likely TBH) it's going to be hard - especially with me about to be made redundant and our baby on the way.
Ah well.
OS-wise I still feel a bit of a fraud TBH! Did cook roast lunch yeaterday, and have chicken leftovers to do something with tonight (probably pasta & sauce) and finally sorted out my underwear drawers which were overflowing! But other than that have not made much headway with the de-cluttering at home, and can't see me having much energy tonight!
Hope everyone having a good day.

Morning all.
I'm in the office but having a coffee and muffin break.
Have loads of paperwork to file and accounts to finalise before Friday so need to keep my head down.
Put 2 loads of washing on the pulley this morning, stripped the girls' beds and cleaned the bathroom. Plated up the meals for tonight. Girls have brownies, OH will be late home and I have a Governers' meeting so we're all eating at different times and meals will be microwaved on demand. It's braised steak and veg with mashed potato I made yesterday.
Better get on with this work.

Have a good day and dont forget to make 5 mins for yourself0 -
Well what a time lots of you are having at the mo, will just send a huge collective hug to everyone and hope that all gets much better soon!
Have stuck on bm, with a mix that I found whilst digging out some marrowfat peas, it's one of the hovis granary mixes that were on offer ages ago, 27p I think, but needs using up, and will make nice garlic bread I think. Put peas on to soak, I'm the only one who eats mushy peas, but I have a suspiscion that the kids will eat them if I turn them into fritters, so will give that a go once they're cooked, hmmm, might make a nice quick tea for Friday whilst they're waiting for their dad, will do some other things too, not just pea fritters lol!
Ice cream still not made, but did do some hoovering, portion up and freeze the tom sauce and drained and reduced the stock, now waiting for it to cool so I can shove it in the freezer as well!
Need to finish my meal plan, so have whizzed upstairs to grab Gill Holcombe and Econ Gast - we will eat some different things!
Diva - saw some chelsea buns reduced in shop yday, but didn't buy them as I am going to try your ones out! Will give the recipe a go tomorrow hopefully if you find time to post (that's not a nag, honest!).
Well didn't get round to the chicken butchery yesterday, so going to have my lesson today hopefully! We popped into blockbuster and then collapsed in front of a dvd - we were going to go to the cinema, but I didn't fancy Area13 (not sure what no it is actually) and oh didn't fancy Fame lol! Did consider driving into Bristol, but as I'm at work for the next 3 nights I didn't want to be up late, getting old I think, or perhaps just sensible!
dd2 enjoyed her boat trip and went in an inflatable that was towed behind as well, said it was quite warm, and she did get to use her sun lotion Bargainbird! She was frozen by the time they came home, so had a hot bath and flopped into bed!
Right oh here now, so best go help with the bbq!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Well, what a lot of busy bees you all are! Penny Pincher, I'm with you on content of sausages. Hoping to make my own soon, Kenwood mincer is on its way. Won that off ebay yesterday.
Having a good time with the fridge management at the moment, been lazy recently and had to chuck a few things out, so pleased to be back on track. Made chicken stock with the soup bag that lives in the freezer and the chicken bones. It's a good stock this one, smaller quantity, but mmm. Made a tomato soup base with tomatoes mum brought with her.
Parents are on their way home yesterday after being here for a week. Has had desired effect as dad has enjoyed his convalescence. Is much better than when he arrived, though not that strong yet. That will come. Mum has helped with a few jobs which has been helpful.
Meal tonight will be piece of bacon, will boil peas in with it ready for pea and ham soup. Left over veg from last night so an easy meal. Made bread sauce with chicken yesterday and some over for the freezer. ONly dh likes it. Used stuffing from the freezer, still have some there for another time. Makes life easier when you don't have to start from scratch every time.
Had a baking session yesterday, had made a whole pack of trex into pastry on Saturday, made a treacle tart for orchestra exchange party (now in freezer), some mini custard tarts for lunch, treacle tart for pud last night and enough there stll for this evening. Also some discs of pastry in the freezer now to do quiches. I like quiche baked fresh, but starting with pastry is a nuisance. this way will be nice and quick. Also an 8" pastry case for a bakewell or something at a later date.
Mum made the Christmas pudding yesterday so I need to get that wrapped and put away. Think they're all coming here. She has a list of stuff to do for me!
Must go and get on, still lots to do.
Have a good day everyone,"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Afternoon all :hello:
(hugs) to all who need them
thrift: I've been searching for your post with lunchbox ideas but can't find it, I'm probably being totally thick! Would love to read it so would be grateful if you (or someone) could point me in it's direction... DS2 takes packed lunches, he doesn't eat quickly enough to manage the pace of school dinners (unlike DS1 who gets through 2-3 portions!). Today he has a ham sandwich, a banana, raisins, 2 Twinks Hobnobs and some OJ, which is his favourite.
Washing machine is working overdrive this morning. have got beef casserole in the SC, and have made Leek and Potato soup for lunches and have a Dorset Apple Cake in the oven.
It's a bit drizzly here, hoping it doesn't get any worse as I'm off to do my afternoon of volunteering in the school after lunch.
Hope you all have a good day! x0 -
welcome to Marmalize :hello:
EssexGirl - (((hugs))) hope you soon feel better and that your cat is ok xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning again,
Have had a industrious morning, house cleaned from top to bottom, except for dd's room, i walked in and straight back out again , she WILL be doing it tonight.
Done an online shop, prepped the dinner for tonight, and done three loads of washing.
There are a lot of people not sleeping very well, I hope you all manage some sleep tonight.
Essex girl you really are going through it at the moment, I hope ds and kitty are ok xx
Tired mum, I hope it all works out ok for your ds xx
marmalize hello and welcome.
I need to pop to MR T and get some sweets and little bits for my nephew, he is still in care and has been moved to Yorkshire, anyway its his birthday on saturday, so will send a parcel up to him with £10 so he can treat himself.
My dd's step brother is getting married in 2011, ( just got engaged) and sent an E-mail to all those he wants to invite, including dd, anyway, they are getting married in Thailand and the approx cost for the trip is £1000 :eek:, dd was so upset yesterday as we just dont think we can afford for her to go, also its during term time and she will hopefully be in college by then. Its a lovely idea getting married abroad, but not brilliant for those who can't afford to go, they have invited 28 people, so at least £28000 will be spent  but I suppose its cheaper for them that way.
Anyway better get on xx0 -
Essex girl - hope you start to feel better soon and tha your son has a happy birthday despite not being very well. He will have something to look forward to.
MollyI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
