Morning Guys!
Had a rough night here too. Couldnt get comfy, so ended up on the sofa. Really need to look into some sort of sofa bed for the lounge as some nights I just cant get upstairs, even with the stairliftNurse should be here about 8 then I have a hospital appointment up London this morning and another this afternoon.
WM has been on and DW.....both need unloading which hopefully OH will do. Toilet has been cleaned and house generally tidy. There is a pile of ironing here too.
Tonight we have sausages from Abel & Cole. They have a nice texture and flavour but at £4.10 for 6, its not normally what I would pay:eek::eek::eek: but they had 2 packs for £5.50 a few weeks back, so it didnt seem too bad. I like the Sainsburys TTD small sausages which I get when on sale at £2 and have a 90% meat content.
Lunch is left over chilli on jacket from Saturday for me. I bought some pork mince the other week on special but have never cooked with it before....is it the same as lamb/beef to cook with? I was going to make a chilli and add onion, tinned toms, chillis & powder and kidney beans...would that be ok?
Anyway, I am rambling again and nurse will be here soon.
Hugs to all.

Morning all:hello:
Happy Monday all. My shopping day today-always makes me happy:D Farmshop and Waitrose. Need to get a sack of spuds.
My French classes start up again today but in the evening this year due to not enough people wanting the daytime class. I'm really going to have to make myself go this time I hate going out in the evening. Still I'm not doing anything else with my evenings - stop being lazy Thriftlady
Breakfast -beans on toast for the kids, toast and marmalade for me.
Lunch - leftover spicy lamb pie for me, lunchboxes are cheese sandwiches, flapjacks and apples, OH has a pasty with leftover kedgeree in it. The kids were going to have veg curry pasties but the curry was too wet and they fell apart:rolleyes:
Supper- Baked potatoes, smoked mackerel, sweetcorn and coleslaw
Must bake flapjacks for school tuck shop later and feed my sour dough starter. I'm hoping to bake a loaf with it later this week.0 -
Morning chums ,
my what a busy lot you are this time of the morning.I had an early night (10.30.) so I could have a read of my DDs latest Mark Billingham book and didn't turn off the light until almost 1.30. by which time I found it hard to get off to sleep. Then for the rest of the night woke up at two hourly intervals ,I hate that as it makes me feel a bit bleugh in the morning. But its Monday and the start of a new week and time and Aldi's wait for no one.I am off there this morning to get some fruit and veg,my DD is coming after she has dropped the boys off at school. She has never been there and thinks my addiction to their 'super six' is a bit odd.I hopefully will show her how reasonable it is.Last day of my four-week GC today and I have just over seven pound to spend on just fruit and veg so should be just inside my target limit of £120.00 which I am very pleased about. Tonights dinner will be from my freezer, probably a sheperds pie and pud will be a Mueller strawberry rice.
My DD had a bogoff in her order from Mr T's and gave me the spare one as she said she would be eating them daily for a fortnight otherwise. She's the only one in the house who likes pudding rice so thats why she treats herself now and again. Weather is looking o.k. at the moment and the forecast is around 19c for today which for the end of September is great. No heating on just yet for me anyway.Last night I thought it was a bit humid to be honest,I'm not looking forward to the damp of the winter but i bit cooler overnight would be nice if only to snuggle under the duvet. Well time I got a wriggle on,<<hugs to those who are down and blue >> and a big cheesyto the rest of you.Hope everyone has a good week
Cheers JackieO0 -
Morning peeps
another sunny morning here today, very fresh outside as i found when hanging out the washing. The dishwasher has been emptied and the beef has been taken out of the slow cooker and is cooling in the kitchen. Once its cool enough i shall make the potted beef.
Today is the day that the living room gets blitzed, i need to move an enormous cupboard to have a good clean behind it but i`m hoping that it should slide across the laminate easily enough, this is one of the cupboards that i`ve been sorting out and i still have two shelves to go.
I should get everything done before DH and the houndies return, little cat more than made up for their absence yesterday by racing around the house chasing imaginary things and ending up wrapped up in the rug miawing  she always goes a bit mad once she is on her own - i think that she misses tormenting the younger houndie.
Anyhow best get cracking, sorry to hear that so many of you have had a poor night ((((HUGS))))
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Good morning
Thriftlady, thank you so much for posting your packed lunch ideas. My ds is not much of an eater just now, but I am making a list of lots of your ideas. He is starting to become a little more interested in food, and is always willing to have a lick of whatever is being made to try it, so there is hope. Today he has sandwiches, a teeny chocolate cake in a petit four case, a Twink, and a bottle of water. He takes raisins for his snack in class.
I will be setting off for the darkest depths of the kitchen in a moment to make banana muffins. I also have some cooking apples to do something with. I may see if there's room in the freezer for a couple of small apple pies as dh is home in two weeks or so.
Pen-Pin hope your hospital appointments go well.
Take care all of you0 -

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Morning all
Well I have my first lecture of my 4th and final year at uni in 20 mins. I am being good today and staying in uni all day so I get a lift home with my other half at 5, rather than going home after my lectures which saves me a handy £5 bus fare  However I was bad last night as I was too tired to make my sandwiches so I have to buy something here, but I did bring fruit and snack bar and water so all I have to buy is a sandwich!
Apart from that I wont' get much of a chance to be frugal today...may do some christmas stitching later :T
Hugs to everyone x:cool:"More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." - Harold J. Smith:cool:0
