Morning all, hope you are all well.

I am very tired and don't feel very well :( I think it's stress plus some viruses taking advantage. I have been asleep most of the weekend :( We have a court date for OH's divorce  We have to hire a barrister - and this is just the 30 min pre-court hearing. I think the judge is going to be annoyed at all the messing about :(

Dinner last night was HM pork meatballs, barbeque butter beans and rice (just beans and rice with me because I have this unnatural aversion to meatballs. I don't know why. I even squashed them so they were flat, but I still couldn't eat them :rotfl: ) I have the same for lunch today (also minus meat balls). No idea what to do tonight - I have some black beans soaking, but what their fate will be I don't know :)

I made coconut macaroons too. I don't like them either :)

have a good day all, cel x

Well my day got off to a good start when I spotted that the stitching on the strap of one of DD's school shoes had split. Five and a half weeks since the school went back, hmph. They are Clarks shoes and I do have the reciept so yes, I'll get them changed, but it's annoying!

Today I'll carry on with the revamp of DS's room. Yes I've been working on it for three days already but basically it's a deep down clean, sort, redecorate and reorganise job and that takes time to do properly. Today I will dismantle the vast set of shelves that line one wall and rebuilt them into a lower, less overwhelming arrangement that includes a good amount of desk area. (It's that Ivar modular stuff, from Ikea.) That will shed the last of the junk that lives on the top sheves down onto the floor, which is not great, but I have got plans for it all.

I'm starting to think I need to do this on DD's room as well. Am I mad?? But it's very satisfying to get the dark corners of the house excavated, belive me.

Today the menu is packed lunches for DH and the kids, baked potato for me. Tonight DH and I will have the rest of the chicken and biryani rice from yesterday and the kids will have spicy stir fry noodles made with some of the chicken and veg.

As for my £20 budget for the week, it seems we've run out of Cheerios and ketchup. I will make the kids eat the rest of the half boxes of less favourite cereal rather than buy Cheerios, but we can't make it through a week without an emergency ketchup purchase, lol!

    morning all

Been up since 5 with DS who has been singing michael Jackson and flapping about:p. He is now settled at school. After almost 2 years they have finally listened to me and started him doing his writing on the PC and have found an Alphasmart for him to use. He can`t write and whilst I know he still has to practice it there has to be some point where you realise it could be years before he can write properly and he needs some medium to be able to put his ideas/answers on paper.
Had a terrible migraine yesterday on top of everything else, the positive things is it is a month since I had one and period started last night so it is def hormone related...dont know what can be done tho:o
Just waiting for GP to ring me back to go and see her about this asthma problem after my swine flu.....hopefully this has been my cold for the winter and I will be free of them now;)
Leftover brisket for tea later.....DS will be having pancakes as it is mon.
Curlytop do not do any extra shifts if you dont feel up to it and dont feel guilty. There are a few of us on here who know what the NHS is like. It isnt your fault/problem they are short so do your shifts and come home and forget about it. Us nurses are great at feeling guilty. I have worked 21 years in the NHS and it was fine when I could work whatever they wanted day and night but now I only do 2 days and have a disabled child and cant be flexible I am a problem to them:rolleyes:. You think of yourself and your little one love, and only do extra when it suits you.
Thriftlady your packed lunches always put mine to shame:o and cooked breakfasts for the kids.....I must get my bum into gear with that...it isnt as if I am not up early enough is it:rotfl:
  • Morning all, Its the start of the new week and my little boy was still bouncing off the walls excited for nursery, its lovely that he has settled there.
I made twinks hob nobs yesterday and I will be making them again they went down a storm and they are nearly all gone already!!!
Thriftlady your lunch boxes sound fab, I need to get the Miss a little less fussy so she can have more in her box. at the moment she is being really hard work to feed we have never had that from her before.
This morning I have stripped all the beds but its abit grey here so I am keeping an eye on the weather, I am hoping to get all the linens dry. I have put the BM on again and that is nearly finished, I need to amke up my meal plan and do a shopping list as we are going shopping tonight.
    Have a good day all.

  • Morning All

Celyn - I am feeling exactly the same - dont feel right, am totally exhausted and have a pounding headache - mine is def stress. Had week from hell at work, DS was ill then yesterday OH & I popped out to tesco came home to find that little dog had attacked out 10year old cat. We rushed her to the vet hospital where they treated her for shock, gave her antibiotics and fluids & kept her overnight. This morning picked her up from there, paid that bill £366  then dropped her round normal vets for xrays as possible her back leg is broken. Unfortunately she is not insured as she was too old when I looked into it. No idea what today will cost hopefully they will be calling at lunchtime.

DS is with us today as he is still recovering & also its his birthday. Didnt do anything over the weekend coz all the family cancelled & had to postpone his trip to the kids play area. Were going to take him out for a meal but definately cant afford it.

So sorry for the long post am feeling miserable with myself, have loads to do and no energy. I know this is a minor blip that we will get over but I just dont have the energy to turn things around to a more positive outlook at the moment.

So will be off now so I dont depress you any further, try and get some work done & post back later in hopefully a more cheerful mood!x
  • Morning all!

Been doing lots of os stuff so far today: 2 lots of washing out on line, third in machine, ironing, making tom sauce to use with meatballs today and extra for freezer, frozen mash and stripped and frozen left over chicken from last night, carcass in pan with veg and boiling away for stock, made meatballs for dinner tonight, hoovered, dusted and cleared the sitting room, walked the dog, now need a coffee!

Lunches today were cheese rolls, yoghurt, apple and hobnobs for big three, dd3 had pitta bread in slices, cheese cubes, cucumber and pepper pieces, tom dip, apple and yoghurt and hobnob. Me and oh will prob have omlette as I have lots of eggs and mushrooms!

Dinner for kids will be meatballs in tom sauce with pasta and garlic bread, and some salad, followed by ice cream if I hurry up and make it!

Right off to stick coffee on, fill bm and sort out ice cream! oh will be back soon with my bbq which will require a good clean and scrub, hopefully we may manage one last bbq before it goes away for the winter though! Will return with coffee to catch up with everyone!

Have a good day all xx

    Hi all,

Well what a lot of people having a bad night, hope you all get chance of a nap later, its horrible feeling like a zombie.

My breakfast was a smoothie.I'm not sure what is for tea,but i will have to have the leftover lasagne at lunch,as Dh didnt fancy it yesterday,he wanted a (late)pub lunch. We had to call in to change the date on some posters for the band anyway, and as he was paying it would have been rude to say no,wouldn't it ? Unfortunately,as I went upstairs to get my face ready to face the world,he didn't pay close enough attention to the gingerbread muffins in the oven, and they came out well done(charred..)We have been cutting the tops off,but they are a bit dry, grrr.

Raining here today,so no bedding out on the line for me.I'll get a bit damp dragging the 3 bins in later-its recycling day.We lit the woodburner last night too, nights are def.getting chilly.I've brought some kindling in from the garden before it got wet,but some of the logs we got from a friend don't seem to burn very well,so may need to order some.We still have one piece of sycamore trunk to cut up yet, that usually burns well.

Hope you have a good day.
    PP,good luck with appts today.
    Molly,glad you sound brighter today.
    Marmalize,welcome to the daily.
Mioliere, glad you had a good week.
