Oh dear where have the last 2 hours gone.

I have had lunch with DH, well I had leftover macaroni cheese and a mug of tea, he had a beer :rotfl:

Other than that I have had 2 loads of washing in frommthe line and have risked a third out. Its very windy but does look like rain so keeping a close eye on it.

Have actually folded said washing and taken to respective rooms for OTHER PEOPLE to put away - I am not their slave.

Now I really must get on and clear the middle room of suitcases and wedding stuff - its only been in there a month :o

    Back later
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
  • Have just popped on while I wait for DH to finish cleaning up in the kitchen - it took 3 hours yesterday to wash down all the paintwork in the kitchen/extension and so today we've both been painting - i've done all the coving and his lordship has done the 3 ceilings - looks tons better already and I'm hoping that the water stain on the fresh plaster will cover properly otherwise will have to buy a proper water stain paint.

Just going to tidy everything back for now, then flit up to homebase while they've got their 2for1 paint thing on - can't quite decide between a light apricot or a pale yellow..... i'll wait to see what they've got

Have a good weekend all and hugs and healing vibes to those who need them

Greenbee have you got your ESTA visa yet?
Yes... did it at work on Thursday... printed a copy on Friday... must start putting my paperwork together!

I would advise some sandals for Florida, it'll be warm, very warm. For clothes I'd go for light cotton blouses and work trousers (for the work thing) and maybe very light cargo type pants and vest tops for mooching around. Maybe 1 or 2 maxi type dresses for evenings out. Swimming costume.

Hats, baseball caps if you like, dunno about you but I can't stand having a hot head. Obviously everywhere inside is air conditioned so be aware for skin drying out there too.
I'll bear it in mind... I expect I'll be asking again next time (Saturday flight  as the conference starts on Sunday and I can't get a flight early enough to get there for the start)

If you're not keen on flying maybe this'll help, I'm listening to it daily now on my ipod in preparation.

Don't forget mosquito repellent, very good moisturisor for face and body (dry heat) and lip balm (dry heat again).

We've got to get packing too as we're off to Vegas soon.

I'm not scared of flying. I just find it very very boring and very very uncomfortable! I'm packing lots of moisturiser/foot cream/lipsalve/hand cream/eye drops for the journey. I've also managed to find organic facial wipes for a quick wash before I get there. I think clean undies & a change of clothes if possible would be a good idea. I'm trying to decide whether to take my laptop bag (looks like a large leather handbag) as a handbag or as my total hand luggage. I think I'm going to need to buy a wheely suitcase with a hand luggage bag that slots on top for transatlantic flights, but I'll wait till after Christmas, so I've done a couple of trips and worked it out! When is your vegas trip?

I believe so. I posted three things out in one day and two haven't arrived.
But they were letters so no tracking

    Oh Greenbee what about jetlag?

apparently (I read this in a book once and it has stayed with me) if you make insoles out of brown paper and wear them in flight you won't get jetlag! Just stand on paper and draw round it and cut them out...

erm - postal strike is affecting some areas but not others, so it depends on where they were going to.

Jetlag - I'm going to try not to get it. Hopefully I'll be able to have an earlyish night on Sunday (you lot know what time I'm normally up till) and won't be too tired while I'm out there, and then when I get back I have a day off in lieu of tomorrow's travel, which means I'll have to try to stay awake all day on Friday! I'm not sure that I'm prepared to try the brown paper thing... I don't have any to hand!

Went shopping. Still hate that too... wasn't inspired by the luggage (well, except the expensive stuff!), but did get a few useful bits and pieces. Didn't manage to get painkillers or batteries though . I should be able to get those at the airport and I'll have stacks of time!
