Soappie - WTG :T
Was going to try some more flying but feel very tired & a bit headachy. Don't know if I am now catching the lurgy everyone else has or whether it was the close proximity to the bleach today that's done it.
Next time Piggers mentions bleach & toothbrushes in the same sentence I'm gonna drag sick child to school & go back to work even if I have to put castors on the bed legs and tow the bed behind the car:rotfl:0 -
Woohoo! for Soappie's DS and DiL!
I've got a pan of soup cooking on the hob (sweet potato and chorizo) and it smells soooooo good. Might have to have a taste as a starter (having tikka salmon tonight yum yum). Going to make my first ever batch of hobnobs tomorrow, and maybe a banoffee pie. I'm in a cooking mood
Flying - I have decluttered all of the floors and wiped out the fridge, and put in a maintenance request to have my curtain rail fixed coz it fell off
Got a good long list for tomorrow now, might post it here later if I get a chance, meantime hugs to everyone

They were - they were supposed to exchange last week and it never happened. But, and we need a big fan fare and drum roll here please:
:j:beer::j
They have exchanged!

Completion is due next Wednesday. They won't be moving out straight away because they want to decorate first. But the end is in sight....0 -

5 minutes and then DS3 is going to bed.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Gawd this is turning out to be a right job....I've now pulled all the sealant up from around the bath and am now trying to scrape the rest of the jelly like bits off  its going to take ages.
Then I'll spray with the mould spray, in the meantime I'd better pop out and get some new sealant and a toilet seat and maybe a new shower head.
BTW I found 13 bottles of various bathroom cleaners hidden round the back of the loo and the sink, including 2 bottles of mould cleaner/remover.:rotfl:
I don't think you should be a. doing so much or b. exposing yourself to all those nasty chemicals while you're ill.Dustykitten wrote: »OMG I just turned into my mother in M&S!
A middle aged, middle class pompous man spoke so rudely to the staff whilst I was in the queue (sitcom in action). I was so appalled that on the way out I gave him a piece of my mind, very loudly, about how rude he was - other customers were laughing and the staff shouted thank you very much to me as I left.
Well done Dusty! There's no excuse for being rude, even if you're middle aged, middle class and pompous - it's perfectly possible to be polite even with that much of a handicap!I hoovered a couple of hours ago, you wouldn't believe it now. Does anyone else have this problem or indeed any practical suggestions - the carpets are over quarry tiles and will need replacing some time. Small children, dogs, cats, building works, etc.
As soappie says, take up the carpets. Quarry tiles can easily be swept & mopped. You can have rugs (make sure they have underlay/non-slip backing) if you need them for warmth, but get machine washable ones! Personally I wouldn't bother...
Great news soappie!
It was dark by the time I got home today, so I've got the washing in and put it in the dryer for a few minutes to take the dampness off it. I had a conference call with my boss at 5 which went on till 6 which meant I hit the traffic on the M3... I have masses of work to do before Monday, so I'm not quite sure how I'm going to get it all done! Hopefully I'll be able to get some stuff printed off so that I can read it on the plane. I don't want to sleep as it's a daytime flight.
Suppose I'd better go and check that the washing is dry, put it away, make my bed and then see what else I feel like doing. I have a horrible feeling I'm going to have to get some help in the house once I start travelling, and I really don't want to do that...0
