Ok, so some things are hidden away so I can sort them out properly at a later date but amazingly my spare room no longer looks like one of doom. I have boxes stacked at the top of the stairs ready for the loft. I just need to make the bedMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Thanks! I'll definately give it some proper thought in that case before the clocks change.. In fact I think I'll go have a nosey online now..

Hi everyone!
Sooo proud of myself! I've done a really good clean job of the bathroom (above and beyond the "can't leave it any longer and that will do")! I've cleaned sink, taps, toilet and bath (usual but without structure). Then I cleaned the window out, cleaned the manky pull cords and found a lid on the laundry basket (not seen before because its been hidden under the washing that no one knew quite what to do with - worn once jobs)! It looks lovely. Gawd help anyone that messes it up :rotfl:
Also cleared more hotspots - far from finished though!
I've even sorted all the kids stuff out for the morning. Have to admit its great sitting here knowing that I've achieved so much - feel quite smug actually - GO MEEEE
Quote of the day "who's visiting?" - courtesy of DD who wondered why I was making a much bigger effort than usual! Cheeky madam. Don't think anything will beat the day my cousin rang to say she'd be stopping by within the hour to drop something off - I dashed around the living room, hoovering and dusting! When my cousin arrived, I invited her in but she said she'd not got time so DD, standing next to me, said "oh you didn't have to hoover up after all"!Fortunatley, my cousin and I are very much alike, she fell about laughing and said she's the same!
Thanks for your support guys!
Having done some washloads today I might have a go at HHI at some point tomorrow.

That only works when they are new and doesn't work fully.. old ones which have been mistreated and are filthy there is actually no way of getting them clean.. ever.. The grout between them holds bacteria and dirt too.. or in the case of my kitchen .. dog pi$$.. and it honks!
We've done this to restore them before... but they may well not have been as bad as yours. It takes a LOT of work (mostly elbow grease, quite a lot of chemicals) particularly on the damaged ones. Grout can be removed and replaced, but otherwise should be cleaned with acid... which should NOT be used on the tiles . Still, if hex's tiles don't smell, and are in reasonable nick, they should be a better bet during the reconstruction work than carpet!
I've done a whole lot of online training and written my list for tomorrow. And my 8.30am meeting has been cancelled, so I don't have to be in the office until my 2pm TC... so I might get some stuff done before I go in tomorrow...0 -
Evening
Been back at work today and only had a couple of twinges so whatever caused my probs with ear seem to be clearing. Still have a check up with quack tomorrow which meant DH could take the car tonight as I can leave home a bit later rather than him having to use the motorbike so he was happy.
Flying tonight has consisted of- Tea prep/cook/eat
- cleared away tea
- wiped table
- cleared kitchen surfaces
- wiped surfaces
- emptied compost bin from kitchen into dustbin outside (the one we use to take it down to the allotment - its not going into landfill!)
- emptied DW
- reloaded DW
- sorted washing
- WM on x 1
