I am knee deep in my RoD...the spare room. I have come on here for a break but I think I am 30 mins away from finishing the declutter :j:j
Then I will just have to dust and deweb and hoover and remake the bed butt I think I will do that Saturday morning. I did the windows, mirror and paintwork earlier. Maybe for the first time ever I will be able to strike through a list the day before I am meant to do it :T:T:T
I hope to be able to report back in an hour or so

If they're properly treated they should be fine. To restore them you'll need to clean them thoroughly, then oil with linseed, and then polish. Once they've had a couple of coats of polish they should be fine, although you need to redo it occasionally (very occasionally... I lent my polisher to a friend 5 years ago and she hasn't needed to borrow it again yet, and that's for her kitchen floor).

Hello everyone, hope you are all OK. I haven't managed to catch up with the thread today.

No flying for me today - I have been too busy and too tired. One of my dogs is eyeing me up at the moment to see if she can tempt me into a game of tug and I am studiously avoiding her gaze cos I just don't have the energy ..... She is 10 years old and we have had two walks today (a total of two-and-a-half hours) and she still isn't tired! I am glad she is in good health of course but she has no pity for her old 'mum'! :rotfl:

I did manage to declutter my bedroom a bit yesterday and clear all the ironing, and this morning I sorted out getting a rebate from BT so I guess it hasn't been too hopeless. As I'm working all day tomorrow I think I might have to start again on Monday with the lists. I met my new supported lodgings teenager this morning. He is very sweet and only 16. I really do have to sort the house out before he moves in at the end of the month. I think I will be flying over the weekends!!

    Hi! :hello:

My letterbox is fixed!!! YAY! A double glazing company wanted £65 cos they said the whole unit needed to be replaced.

My friends husband went to B&Q for me and bought another one for £14 and came over to fit it for me.....the only problem was, the 'Universal' Letterbox, didnt fit my door as apparently, my letter box isnt 'Universal'

As it turns out, when he took the old letterbox out we discovered that the flap could actually be reattached!! So he reattached it, fixed it so it wouldnt become unattached again, and then put it all back together!!!!!!! £65 saved!
:)Sometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying:)

Valli, pigpen and Sarah - Thanks for the advice. WD40 did the trick amazingly well. Just a few rounds of spraying it on and dabbing with tissues to soak it up did the trick. The carpet still looks fine, but I'll wait for bright daylight to make sure. I've still got quite a few questions, so I hope you don't mind me posting one every now and then.

DS2 son is getting into the cleaning spirit (in a fashion). When I went to get him out of the bath, he had already washed his hair - 5 times. The shampoo bottle was empty and the water so soapy that I couldn't hold on to him. The only way to rinse him was with the shower. He really hates water on his face and I think he'll stick to one wash next time, or he'll wait for me. ;)

As for flying - I've given up on anything apart from S&S/daily routine stuff until I come home from work tomorrow afternoon. :o

    Back to work now.
    Good night all.

Evening everyone. Well the bathroom will be finished tomorrow. Im just annoyed the electrician has not been back today. The two guys who have done the bathroom have worked really hard and been here by 8 in the mornings. I will start deep cleaning everywhere on Sat. Im really pleased with it. Been to GSs for a shower.

Ive swept and mopped kitchen floor.
Washed, dried and put away dishes.
    Load of washing in.

    Welcome to the newbies.
Dusty :TWell done you. There is never any need for rudeness.
SSL Pension sorted and was in my account today. I thnk I was just unsettled with all the upheaval.
Soappie Thats great news for DS and DIL.

That only works when they are new and doesn't work fully.. old ones which have been mistreated and are filthy there is actually no way of getting them clean.. ever.. The grout between them holds bacteria and dirt too.. or in the case of my kitchen .. dog pi$$.. and it honks!

The slate has to be treated occasionally too.. and it looks amazing for a while.
