My mum really really wanted a Wii fit for Christmas and had one from her partner who caved in in end when she refused everything he otherwise suggested!
Does anyone have any tips I can offer her? she was going to the gym but I think just grew out of it- its not a nice place (unclean, full of skinny students who chat on their mobiles whilst walking at 2km/h, no sauna..etc) she does swim for an hour or so once a week doing legnths of a pool now but is going to be relying on the Wii fit for the bulk of her exercise (she walks quite a bit in her day job) shes 50 and doesn't like Yoga!
Any tips I can link to her in an email that would be helpful? thanks so much in advance!0 -
Jenniewb - sorry I've not got any tips but I've only just got back into this. I'm sure others will be along soon.
I've just done 40 minutes on the wii fit plus:j. I like some of the new games and I'm sure as I get to know it better it won't take me so long to go from one thing to another - it took me an hour to do 40 minutes!! I like the rhythm thing, the cycling and flapping bird. That should tone up my arms!
Now I just need to get the dogs out for some walking and I'm on track for my first day! :rotfl:0 -
I like the sound of EA Sports Active and I'm thinking about going into town for it tomorrow. The only thing I am wondering is how big is the leg strap? I am overweight and my thighs are large - I'm concerned as to whether it will be big enough for me?0

Hi Papoosue
I am a size 20 (well after xmas a size 22) and am 5'5 in height and it fits me fine. No problems not even tight. The bit to adjust is velcro.
Hope this helps.

I am about the same Hollypolly, so that should be fine for me too.
Thank you :THollypolly wrote: »Hi Papoosue

Hi, I would like to join too please. I've 2 stone to lose and hoping the wii fit will help, am going to get ea active as soon as hubby gets paid:D.
Does anyone know if there is a 'step' game? I really like the step aerobics but I don't even get out of breath playing it.0 -
I know what you mean, some of the exercises on the Wii Fit are ridiculously easy, saying that I probably got out of breath with them at the start.
Let us know what's on EA Active!
I am a bit Grrr as the Wii fit plus has wiped all my previous data! Although it couldn't have picked a better time really, what with fresh starts all over the place!0 -

well I have started again today, was all full of good intentions but had a flu bug that meant my head felt my brain was lose and battering off the inside when I moved...but started to feel better today
started with the wii fit body test, surprised and happy to see I lost 2 pounds since last on (36 days ago!!) and have 8 pounds to go to make target
on to wii sports just for a little bit of fun to find I have an age of 29 (not bad for a 43 year old)
then wii active...continued the workouts for the 30 day challenge rather than start from beginning again...feel knackered but fab
just need to keep it going...hols in 17 days so really want to be a bit more toned
off for a walk in the deep snow later (as the car is stuck in it so can't drive anyway!)
how are you all doing?0 -
I've set up my Mii and have a wii fit age of 56 [I'm 53]. I tried the hula hoop and the basic step but wasn't much good at either. Tomorrow I must take my socks off first as I found I was slipping on the board. We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0
