Wow, that spinning tree would make me feel dizzy! I love the beer bottle tree, very unique. Don't know what kind of tree we're having this year, last year was a real one and it was just too messy - can't be bothered with that again.0

We used to have a real tree in the states, but here we have an artificial tree, just due partially to clean-up issues and partially due to small children (really don't want kids eating pine needles! ) Our ornaments are varied, but all collected over the years, a couple from my childhood, some the kids have made over the years, and then we choose a new ornament for the tree each year.
We put the tree up the Saturday after Thanksgiving (on a Thursday towards the end of November), and decorate it on that Sunday, listening to Christmas music, usually around having our Sunday roast dinner, making a nice family day of it.
We've looked at those artificial trees that are pre-lit, but DH's concern was if the lights go, he would go spare, having a pre-lit tree with no lights and having to buy lights anyway! :rotfl:I can see his point, so we just have a regular one. We are a bit silly with our lights anyway - we string white lights on AND coloured lights. Some nights we just light the white lights, some nights we light both.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
We have an artificial pre-lit one. (Anything that saves effort is good by me lol)
Colour scheme will be cream and gold. Everything was black and silver last year, but we have redecorated since and it won't all go with chocolate and cream decor.
My youngest are 2 and 4 and we have had the tree in the living room every year without any probs - after the first couple of attempts most children will learn not to touch it.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. But I give in because I do love xmas and all the traditional stuff goes on it. But I do have a black wreath that I made.Clearing the junk to travel light

Black trees are actually quite fashionable these days, tell your daughter that they're in style :P Get a small black tree as well as your green one, then you can have the best of both worlds. My boyfriend's sister has a black gothy tree, with Nightmare Before Christmas decorations and stuff on, looks really nice!D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0
