Fab thread!!!!!! :T
I'm hoping to convince OH that we need a new tree this year. The one we have is ok but we have a bigger house now so it looks tiny in the corner! I love the look of this one http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2697806/Trail/searchtext%3ECHRISTMAS+TREE.htm but I wanted a 7ft one so may have to look around.
We generally have lots of coloured lights and lots of decorations but no tinsel!
We've got a mini (3ft) fibre optic one too.0 -
MummyYummy - Have a look on the studio christmas catalogue online. It's cheaper in there and they have a bigger one. :TI would post the link but it wont let me. Sorry.0

I have a fibre optic tree (cheating on the lights never sit right for me) - never seen one like that one though think it would make my head spin looking at it!
Dont have a set colour scheme although I have tried to with pink and silver but something gets added every year so its a mix of traditional v modern - looks nicer than it sounds! :rotfl:0 -
At home - proper christmas tree in living room - selected from the local forestry commission, fake in second living room and a fake in conservatory.
erm real tree will be 7 or 8 foot
fake trees are 4 or 5 foot i think
erm not sure bout anywhere else i may be visiting over the festive periodLove is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together0 -

Oh I love that tree, I got a new one last year similar but mine has that fake snow on :eek::eek: and it goes everywhere but does look nice, I just put ginger breads and red candy canes on mine last year, but want to add something more to it this year. Dreading it though as we have the pup, well she will be nearly one in december but she's a big bounding german shep so is into everything:rotfl::D:D:D:D

Then I have a pink girly tree for myself which will have lots of pink things, some cocktail decorations I've bought, some that I made, some little birdies and things that I've picked up. OH will probably hate it, this is the first year I'll be doing one as we got a second tree off his parents too, but I'm so excited!
Me too, sure OH could help me drink the beer to get enough bottle LOL, (I wonder if I could make a smaller one) I liked the advent calander too, was already doing 24 bottles of dif beer for OH for advent so now I need to find a crate
Love the sound of the pink tree too...:D:D:D:D

We have a 6ft artificial tree with red and gold decorations but this year I'm hoping to make loads with DD so think it will become a multicoloured tree and home!:rudolf: Christmas Addict! :rudolf:0

Raise it up off the floor and put it in a corner and you should be fine. It's less likely to be jumped on by the puppy if theres something underneath it and your 18 month old probably couldnt reach, depending how much you raise it.
Thanks!
We have a jack Russell who insists on snooping around under the tree when its up and he always knocks the bottom level of decorations off or gets his tail caught on the lights cable and drags the whole thing. So thinking I have a foot stool in the kitchen (one of these plastic ones but its about chest height on him so that and then the tree should clear him easily.
Might sound harsh but we don't have him in the living room on Xmas morning until its time for his presents - hes locked out at night as hes a rescue male dog he has issues marking territory so doesn't think about cocking his leg on new things in the house. Plus hes a serial chewer so if he caught a wiff of something he'd wreck wrapping etc before we were in and if we have him in in the morning he steals toys to chew - he does this anyway so hes watched constantly but think Christmas morning would be like a kid in toys r us with him!
Should also add we have a 6ft tree which i love. No idea of decoration schemes yet - was thinking bronze and cream too but i prefer the traditional red, green and gold!Time to find me again0 -
for years we had real trees - but we don't have a car and it became more and more difficult to get one locally so last year we bought an artificial one.
we don't have a decoration theme - we buy one or two new ones each year..but they mingle in with the ones the kids made at school....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
If me and my DP are in our own place by xmas .. fingers crossed! .. We will be having a real one with silver and blue decorations on it.
If I am still living with my mum it will be a fake one and whichever colour scheme she goes with this year. She has sets of every colour imagineable so it differs from year to year. Roll on Xmas I love it.
When does everyone put their tree's and dec's up? Mine will go up on 1st December in my own place or if living with mum probably a fortnight before Xmas. Bring it on :j:T0
