if i had £7400 to spend i wouldnt be buying a new car,i would be buying something a year old. then you would get a good spec'd car at a good price.and won't loose as much of its value.
I also wouldn't buy a new car, nor a year old car, I always buy low mileage Honda's, or Mazda's I have never ever had a single thing go wrong with any of them, not even a light bulb.
However, if I was buying a new car for the £7500 mark, I wouldn't touch a Fiat or worse still a Chevrolet, I would buy a Hyundai.
Well spec'd, reliable, great value cars.;)0 -
Jeannie,
If Nissan hadn't have got mixed up with Renault, then maybe.
The Nissan Micra has to be the ugliest car ever built...surely..I wouldn't buy either of them. But then I am not a fan of small cars either.
The Grand prix was good! Hamilton won! I like speed...... :eek:Genie

Find another car with similar spec. for similar money then..
Remember, that is the basic model that you have listed.
The fact that there is now a waiting list until January 2010 speaks volumes.
My mate purchased a new model Citroen Berlingo last week for almost double this cost, guess what, it didn't have Air Con fitted as standard.
You're comparing a Citroen Berlingo against a Hyundai i10 ?
Air Con is overrated in this country; most of the year its cold.

But a/c is good to use all year round, especially in the winter. I guess I mean climate control really....
Berlingo v i10? Agree, not sure what that is all about - but either way, if had to choose, would go for the Hyundai over French any day.Genie

I wasn't directly comparing them, I was indicating that a Hyundai i10 has Air Con as standard when a Citroen Berlingo costing almost twice as much doesn't have this benefit at almost twice the cost.
Air Con is useful all year round to keep windows clear, as Jeannie has suggested.
I personally wouldn't touch anything French with a barge pole.0 -

They don't make them in Korea, India is the place and they don't have the capacity to make more. A very popular car the world over due to the ride, great engine, safety and quality.0 -
Wow, Thanks for all your replies so far.
I agree that neither look stunning, but they are the only 2 from what I've found that have a 1.2 engine, a/c, and electric windows as standard, all of which is what I was really looking for in a new car around the £8000 mark. If there are others people would reccommend then I would be most grateful for the suggestions.
Going back to my previous point, if anyone has any suggestions on how much I should be expecting to negotiate out of the dealers it would be appreciated; and also on the in-dash gps/bluetooth/steering wheel controls for the hyundai if anyone knows the answers.
Thanks again.0 -

Thanks again. So financially, they are the better bet - tho the waiting list is long.
It would seem from previous poster, that Micra is now French - so would avoid... whereas before, I would've recommended it. Unless you can obtain a Japanese made one.Genie
