. air con has been around for decades so hardly cutting edge.

Indeed it has, but many cars at this price range do not have it as standard, in fact some cars costing twice as much as the i10 don't have it as standard.

The i10 is very well equipped for it's price, not forgetting the 5 year warranty.;)

Horrible cheap seats in the Huyundai--like sitting on cardboard, TBH id wait till the scrappage has finished, as your unlikley to get any deals without scrappage, why Dealers are not giving the £1000 plus without scrappage is strange.......if their so desperate to sell why can they just give the discount but less the £1000 the Government (Taxpayer ie you and me) "Give". Perhaps a Dealer could explain.

    • 4 airbags
    • 6 speakers
    • 14" steel wheels
    • Air conditioning
    • Auxiliary input
    • Central locking
    • Front electric windows
    • Manual tilt steering wheel
thats the list of things on the page you linked to,im sorry but in todays modern world this isnt hi spec, this is fairly basic,we've had all these things for years.

bluetooth and sat nav should be an option at the very least.

Find another car with similar spec. for similar money then.. ;)

Remember, that is the basic model that you have listed.

The fact that there is now a waiting list until January 2010 speaks volumes.

My mate purchased a new model Citroen Berlingo last week for almost double this cost, guess what, it didn't have Air Con fitted as standard.

its the price thats the main selling point.

for £7400 i would rather have the panda at £7095 or you could have a maitz for £65 more than the hyundai.or an aveo for a few hundred more and its a bit bigger.

the reason why they have a waiting list til 2010 is because its taking them so long to ship them over from korea.
and the fact that they advertise them on channel 5 inbetween the films they always seem to be brand new and in the garage getting something done to them. hardly a good selling point for me.:rotfl:

The Panda doesn't even have electric windows, or a split folding rear seat, and it is a Fiat.

The Matiz is a dated design Daewoo leftover, the Aveo is also a restyled dated Daewoo Kalos. ( also from Korea ).

None have Air-Con on the basic models, none have a 5 year warranty.;)

if i was looking for a basic car i wouldnt want air con as its something else to break.
the fiat panda does have electric front windows and central locking as standard.

and the i10 is going to win style awards is it? whos hosting the award? stevie wonder :rotfl:

all the 5 year warranty mens is i will feel obliged to keep going to my hyundai dealer for servicing for the 5 year period to maintain my warranty, when realistically my hyundai isnt worth the price of the 2 extra services by that point.

if i had £7400 to spend i wouldnt be buying a new car,i would be buying something a year old. then you would get a good spec'd car at a good price.and won't loose as much of its value.

You have both listed reasons as to why the OP should go for the Nissan - and it is not so ugly as the Hyundai either and has more room. :D

    Jeannie,

If Nissan hadn't have got mixed up with Renault, then maybe.
The Nissan Micra has to be the ugliest car ever built...surely.. :D
