  • Sounds like a mass exodus from AOL then! I am thinking of trying PlusNet as they seem to have the best deal for where I live.

I've been an AOL customer since I was 16, and before that when my parents paid for it. 10 years later, they just aren't as good as they used to be. Price is also a large factor, since with o2 my first 3 months are free on the £10 tariff, plus £75 quidco means I pay for 1 1/2 months of my 12 month contract. Pretty good I'd say.
  • In my experience AOL are terrible for providing a MAC code. I had probs getting one of them to migrate my folks. And yet when I moved from BT to O2 I got it instantly.

Hi, I have just recieved renewal for my AOL, up from £9.99 to £14.99 for anytime.I have had no problems with them, except the norm for most providers.I posted on another thread, my fault, even @ £14.99, its still one of, if not the cheapest for wireless BB+free anytime calls nationally,+ free phone helpline. Why does Martin never mention them in his Best buys.?I am prepared to pay the extra £5pcm unless anyone can tell me of a better offer?I have BT line, AOL want that too in exchange for £11.25 including free 0870+0845 calls.

Snap been with aol 10 years and contract due to end 18th october router is faulty keep having to reset it so asked if we could leave early ... they wanted £10 for a month early after being a loyal customer for 10 years!!!! charming, can't wait to leave.
Think going with BT as the unlimited calls bundle will be good for us

If a faulty router , and resetting it is all you have as a cause to exit a contract early then you are in for a shock with other ISP,sMine sticks often, they are cheap enough, I just turn it off every night for an hour, they don,t last forever. good luck elsewhere
  • its been ok for a week now (tocuh wood) but it is a few years old and I do realise that things don't last forever, but not happy with aol connection haven't been for about 4 months now keeps crashing

Hi, Just phoned AOL, renewed my contract, 18 months@ £6.99 pcm. First 3 months free, new netgear router, free, getting 5mbps or less. maximum line will take with anyone, so I am happy again.I must be just lucky.
