You dont need a MAC code because O2 are taking over the line, when i switched from a BT line to a LLU based providor i didnt need a MAC code and none was asked for.

Of course o2 may do things differently to my experience, a MAC code is needed if you are keeping a BT line and switching ISP

    From the O2 website -

    It's easy to switch
You'll need a BT landline to get O2 Home Broadband. If you already have broadband, you need to ask your broadband provider for a MAC key (they have to give it to you by law). Let us know when you've got it and we'll do the rest.

Well you're experience clearly has it's limitations, you are misleading the OP with wrong information, if you'd taken the trouble to check O2's website you would have known the answer, it doesn't take 5 minutes to check!

I have been with AOL for 8 years but after a catalogue of errors have decided to change providers. I phoned AOL at 12.45 today for my MAC code (they didn't even try and talk me out of moving) and have just had an e-mail with the code - 1 1/2 hours must be a record - perhaps after all my complaints they want to get rid of me!

Its now 48 hours later for me and I've had nothing yet. I'm going to give them until Wednesday before I start annoying them.
