I think you did right by complaining - I have complained twice in my life about food - once when found a stone in Tesco stirfry and I broke my tooth on it and once when we found maggots in a Wilkinson pick and mix - both times the Environmental Health have been fantastic.
I didnt receive compensation on either incident, nor did I even get a refund on the products bought, but for some reason I just felt I needed to inform an official body of the problem.
I hope you get a decent response
I does make you wonder how these things get in there. Well done for putting in your complaint, if we all just ignored it, then can you imagine what sort of state our food would be in :eek:Best Comp wins: , Holiday to Las Vegas worth £3K, £200 shoes, £130 ASOS voucher, £150 River Island Voucher, £100 Toni & Guy Voucher, £250 Red Letter Day Voucher, Holiday to NYC0 -
Now THAT'S an attitude I like. :T
Pollycat this is silly she has done exactually the same thing I have. I feel you are just being arguementative now. so will be placing you on my ignore listBest Comp wins: , Holiday to Las Vegas worth £3K, £200 shoes, £130 ASOS voucher, £150 River Island Voucher, £100 Toni & Guy Voucher, £250 Red Letter Day Voucher, Holiday to NYC0 -

I am thinking of the next person who may injure themselves due to poor standards. Yes I wrote a silly heading (not on purpose) but I am heavily pregnant and the shock of almost swallowing a metal screw scared me!cleopatra4485 wrote: »Just had a curry delivered. Was dishing out the rice to find a screw without the head in it. I am 9 months pregnant and cannot bare the thought of what would have happened if I had swallowed it.
My partner called up the restaurant and they offered to replace the meal or call up another time and get a free meal to the same value.
I do not want to eat from them again. How do I go about complaining to a higher means?

Please yourself, Cleopatra - but moneymakestheworldgoround didn't do exactly the same as you.
He/she didn't refuse a replacement meal or a free meal next time - as you did.
moneymakestheworldgoround didn't say they would have claimed compensation if they had swallowed (in their case) maggots or a stone - as you admitted in your post above.
In fact, having broken a tooth on the stone - and presumably had dental charges to pay - that's a bigger case for compensation than almost swallowing a screw.0
