  • Oh come on! :) Just a little light humour and no offence intended :o

Along with the puns you have received some good advice on what to do.

Please accept my apologies if I have hurt your feelings. That was not my intention.

Don’t be put off future posting and I’m sure you’ll settle in and make lots of friends including me, I hope.

Funny up to a point ;) was actually looking for advice.

9 months and about to pop, you loose your sense of humour :rotfl:

Take deep breaths... that's it... just breathing deeply now...

Good luck to you and yours ;o)
  • Funnily enough, this exact same thing happened to a lady sat on the next table over at an Indian restaurant. She asked the management for a free meal and she got it, of course. If it wasn't the fact we saw her put the screw in her food, cover it with some sauce and fish it out again then I would have believed her.

I'm honestly not saying you put a screw in your own food at all, I was just trying to make the point that you may find you won't get as good a response as you'd hope from EH or any other higher organisation as it's very easy for anyone to add screws/plastic/hair to a meal and blame it on the kitchen staff, but at least by informing them they can have it on record.

 Wowsers! Did you advise the restaurant of what you had witnessed?
"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

  • We did, but the woman had scarpered before the poor bloke on the till could get the manager. They had captured it on their external CCTV and put a picture of her face and her reaching into her bag up in the shop window with THIEF in huge red letters, and they also sent out letters with her face to all the restaurants nearby in case she tried it again.

What some people will do astounds me! Again, not implying the OP did this at all!

Not trying to demean the OP, but this does remind me of the Simpsons episode where Bart swallowed a jagged metal Krusty-O and had to have his appendix out.....Unlike the OP, it DID say on the box about it!

yes its a shame this happens, so when it really does its not taken seriously. The local council emailed me stating they are looking in to it. I have told them I refused any free meal so might be more effective.

  • Hi

I think you did right by complaining - I have complained twice in my life about food - once when found a stone in Tesco stirfry and I broke my tooth on it and once when we found maggots in a Wilkinson pick and mix - both times the Environmental Health have been fantastic.

I didnt receive compensation on either incident, nor did I even get a refund on the products bought, but for some reason I just felt I needed to inform an official body of the problem.

I hope you get a decent response
