May 2010 weddings!

Heeeeee not long now :j
I'm pretty much sorted as there isnt much we can do now until we get to Italy and let the planners take over. Invites to the UK party will be going out in the next week or so...OH is a graphic designer and has made them look like Italian passports :T we are having a 'boarding card' as a rsvp, not at all traditional (which I didnt want) but I love them
Made a list yesterday of things still to get/do - suit for OH :eek:, flowers for the cupcakes, playlist for the party, decorate our post box, fragile tape for the suitcase carrying my wedding dress & envelopes for the invites.

Have lost just under 3 stone so far so am going for dress fitting/alteration in March and then its all systems go for 11th May :j

15 weeks tomorrow :eek: Hoping to get invites out in the next couple of weeks and sort the wedding car, it's going to go sooo quickly now!

hi iam a new user to this i also get married in may, the 10th in zante we are having a nightmare at the min,
so far

we have booked the town hall
got my dress, ring
got grooms suit

thats it, need advise on how to get a bridesmaid dress cheap and as money is running out due to financial problems that have cfome up xx

Have you tried Debenhams or Monsoon for a bridesmaid dress? Debenhams have got loads of the Debut dresses in the sale at the mo and Monsoon had 70% off instore. Good luck, keep us posted x

Hi girlies,

Is anyone else panicking that your wedding is coming up really soon!! I just cant bare to see how many days are left until the big day as I am enjoying the planning so much and just think it's heaven building a whole perfect day.

Of course, I am not forgetting what getting married means and we have the rest of our lives to be happy and devote to each other, but I am just so shocked how much I love planning and how much there is to do!!!

I hope someone out there feels the same!!

Last year I came within 6 weeks of getting married (then had to postpone due to huge fire at venue), and it was all ground rush at the end! I remember dreaming about weddings and waking up feeling really panicky about the least bit thing.
I love the whole planning thing too....have had to start from scratch again really - choosing invitations etc which is a bit weird (and expensive!), but I'm trying to be a bit more relaxed this time! I'm a great believer in making lists, I love the satisfaction of going through the list and ticking off jobs as I go along, which helps me!
I'm going to compile a 'to delegate' list too so I can involve both families with the planning as I was quite a control freak last time!
I also think the support on this particular forum is brilliant - we can vent to our hearts content, so thanks to everyone on here!

124 days to go for me :eek: Can't wait, and just had call from the dress shop to say my dress is in, fitting 19th Feb!!!! Maybe shouldn't mention that on here as it is in no way mse I'm afraid, but I still love it!!! Sooo much left to do though! Decided on my flowers finally I think, the middle one of the bottom 3 if this link works

Oh my goodness! So although you must have experienced hell when the venue caught fire, but you are planning again!! That must be so surreal, but fun at the same time!

The list is a great idea, I need to get one sorted!! Also the delegation thang. I thought about that after I had a wobble last week, and will be getting mother to do a few bits as I think I am being like you were and taking it all on. In Laws really dont want to know or assist in getting the finer details sorted, so it's just my parents who I trust enough to do anything (apart from OH of course!!).

I finally found some wedding shoes which perked me up no end - wooop. I feel I can see more clearly now as to what needs doing, but it is still scrambling my brain

Nozzy -I cant believe you have put how many days til your wedding! It's nearly at 100!!!!! How the hell has time flown so quickly!!!!

hehe I'm not that obsessive that I'm counting it down in my head (honest! :rotfl:) on YAYW it tells you how many days to go each time you sign in. When it hits 99 I think a major panic will be in order!
