My claim is still with the decision makers! The lady I spoke to has e-mailed them to phone me urgently.:mad::mad:
I am beginning to feel sick about this. Am I really going to get nothing after working all my adult life?

Glad Nathan is feeling better Luc.

What the hell are they deciding...

Bookie, please ring them back tell ask them what their official complaints procedure is...I did that and they moved fast enough then. I even took my complaint to the supreme court of job seekers complaints procedures.....they stuck up for their own in the end but I got an official apology.....I didn't make their life easy.

Yes and apply for a crisis loan.....

I think I will ask Bunny for some tips!

I am now the proud owner of a sofa, and a small box which apparantly contains a double bed (I honestly don't see how, I have a feeling that when I open it the headboard and footboard will be missing). Now just need to get rid of the old stuff tomorrow, then work on putting everything back where it should be - I had to move stuff round so the sofa would get in.

Bookie, def complain and put in an application for a crisis loan.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

My daughter was at school with my local MP so I wil certainly be contacting him.
Council have written saying that my application for housing benefit has been refused as I haven't returned the evidence required ie my jobseekers award!
Letter from supplier threatening CCJ application if I don't pay the £57 plus £40 costs by Tuesday.
Think I may just go back to wallowing.

Ring them up and tell them the situation. Tell them by all means take me to court...they will have to apply online...they will then have to wait 30 days for you to reply which you will telling them the circumstances. They will then have to apply for a ccj and you will then another 30 days to pay them before the ccj stands.....as you don't have any money the court will say you just have to pay about 2p in the pound to them given your other debts........so they should be paid in about......60 years or so....

    bloody !!!!!! they are...

  • I just don't think I will get anywhere. Being self-employed is obviously the worst crime on earth.
  • :hello: Hi everyone. Bookie sorry to hear they are being absolutely useless  for you. They'd better sort it out soon .
Haven't been around much as been busy looking at property  - seen about 7 or 8 now and we are getting there but running out of options - I don't really want to live in a shoebox or somewhere horrid and damp - ho hum. Spent the last few days tidying and sorting etc and trying to organise. Absolutely shattered and have had no 'holiday time' with OH at all - just endless jobs to do. Oh well.

I don't know what else to suggest Bookie. When I lost my job my employer refused to confirm to the job centre that he had 'made me redundant' so even though I was sitting there with a six week old baby on my knee and i quite plainly wasn't at work they still took his word for it....

and when the woman in the job centre told me I should be grateful I didn't have some terminal illness she was seriously lucky I didn't smack her one there and then. OH had no job I had no job and I had three other kids to look after and a mortgage to pay. I couldn't get a crisis loan either....

I couldn't stop fighting..I had children to feed......the easiest thing in the world would be for you to give in now because you only have yourself to look after, but it isn't right.

Threaten them with the newspapers tv Martin Lewis.....anything...tell them you will NOT go away today unless this has been sorted.

Please, please, please stay on here....

  • Go to the job centre and cause a fuss? Explain to them that you have no money at all - my job centre seem quite good at sorting people out, especially if they look like they are getting funny and going to cause a scene - maybe that would make them move faster?

Found him a little guest house....looks a bit 'quaint' but he is not fussy....£35 per night and includes full english....sounds a lot but it comes with the territory of his occupation.

Becky are you offering...:rotfl: I could never ask anyone to put up with my OH.....he is lovely...but neat and tidy he is not. Think mad professor crossed with Mr Magoo and you are about right...:rotfl:

I live about an hour and a half away probably more in rush hour!

£35 seems decent though - well done!
  • Right people-I need to pick collective brains....we have just been turned down for re mortgage, despite it only being 65k on a 700k house, having NO debts, and a great income. Have looked at Credit ref report, and the only things it could be are an old debt that was defaulted-although settled in 2006. (Not our debt, nasty BIL took out credit card in DH name and didn't pay up..we foolishly did thinking it was for the best-only £350 anyway, but def shows settled)and possibly the fact that DH often takes cash out on his credit card (as you all know, he's abroad a lot,and sometimes debit card doesn't work-you know how it is..) ..the question is, wheres the best place on here to ask about it? What to do about it??
    Thanks all, SRM x
