Great minds think alike Sally! Not sure the local paper will do any good, as far as I know decision makers are based in regional departments, not local ones, so it'd be the wrong people getting the flak.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

My daughter was at school with my local MP so I wil certainly be contacting him.
Council have written saying that my application for housing benefit has been refused as I haven't returned the evidence required ie my jobseekers award!
Letter from supplier threatening CCJ application if I don't pay the £57 plus £40 costs by Tuesday.
Think I may just go back to wallowing.0 -
Your local councillor can definitely sort out the Housing Benefit thing, get onto them straight away. Also mention it to the MP - that the Jobseekers debacle is affecting your housing benefit, it's an extra issue he can use to hit them with.
What's the supplier, is it relating to the business? For £57 I imagine a threat is just that - a threat. I really doubt they'll take you to court for such a small amount. I assume they know your situation? If so then they know the best they can hope for is a court order for £1 a month, so it's really not worth their while.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Spoken to Mp's office. Told them that I can't claim housing benefit or mortgage protection until I get the award. They are going to write.0

Bookie they can threaten a CCJ, they take you to court and you show evidence that JSA application has taken this long and it will be refused. If you don't have any money how can you pay? Phone that supplier up and say when you get your JSA then they will get what proportion you will be able to afford, in the meantime if they want a bit of your fresh air to live on they are welcome. Honestly what can they do? DO NOT wallow...I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
