Spoke with Baines and Ernst this morning regarding a DRO. A really nice girl guided me through it all and my paper work should be coming through this week and all I need to do is pay the £90 fee.
The relief is enormous, good luck and best wishes to everyone else going BR or taking a DRO this monthDRO granted 17/10/20090 -

Booked a hearing today for 22 October!
After many years of hardship and stress (especially the last 10 months) I absolutely cannot wait to start over. I can't believe everything that goes into my bank a/c at the end of the month will be mine to keep (and the OR's but they can have it!). This is going to be the best Halloween yet.
I know not everyone is as optimistic as I am about BR so hang in there all and best of luck.
PS: Thanks Don for the pumpkins!_party_

Took my papers into court and have to go back at half past nine in case the judge has any questions or problems with paperwork. So.. fingers crossed there is no issue and I will not even have to see the judge!0

I was officially made bankrupt at 1pm today, going to the court was a huge anticlimax, I had worked myself up to be asked a barage of questions and to be hauled infront of the judge but none of that happened, was just asked to swear on the bible and sign my paperwork then the lady told me to ring back at 2pm to hear the outcome, rang back at 2.05pm to be told it all went through fine at 1pm.
The OR rang about 5.30pm to confirm some details, she was a lovely lady who explained that I was allowed to keep 1 account for my income, which is my post office account and that she will send a letter for a telephone interview which will take place in 2 weeks time for about 1 hour which will just be confirming how my debts come about and the reasons behind my bankruptcy, she even ended the phonecall with 'Have a nice day'.
Can I assume that the lady who rang me today will be the one who will ring me for the interview?
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted and I can start fresh, my children are only very young, 6 years and nearly 2 years so as they grow older they will reap the benefits of living within our means and having to save if we want something.
With regards to telling family, I haven't told a soul apart from my cousin who has also gone through bankruptcy 5 years ago, I might tell them in time but at the moment I'd rather keep schtum.
Good luck to everyone who is going bankrupt this month, it really is the first day of the rest of your life xx:j Bankrupt 6th October 2009 :j:beer: To a Debt-free Future :beer:0 -
