Hi,
Im new to the board, going bankrupt on the 12th Oct quite scared as I feel like im going in alone (single mum) ive had all this thrown at me very last minute due to being lied to for several months by my ex. After reading a lot of posts feel a bit happier about the process just the thought of going to court seems really daunting!

Hi and welcome marmalady, best wishes for the 12th, stay strong, you are not going through it alone, there is usually someone here who can help with worries and questions. Court seems daunting but the court staff will be lovely, not judgemental at all, they have seen lots of people come through the doors to do what you are going to do.

Hi, taking my papers into court on Monday so will all be sorted. I am not worried about going br as I know this is the best decision, but it is difficult dealing with my sister who does not understand why I am going down this route. Has anyone else had problems with family not being supportive??? I was managing my debt until I returned to university full time in September while also trying to work full time to keep up to date with payments! Have now left uni, but not been able to improve finances!

I took my forms to the court yesterday and will have my hearing on the 7th Oct.

Not too nervous of the hearing day yet, it's the OR interview that I am a bit worried about as I have some old debts that I cannot fully remember what the money went on.

Just like to add a big thank you to everyone on these forums who has helped with advice. I really can't imagine doing it on my own.

I just submitted my forms online just got to wait a week before going to court! I dreaded telling my family as I though they would disapprove but on the whole they understand. One of the things they found hard to understand was how it happened and where had all the money gone. Once I talked thru it theyve supported me 100% didnt help my mums husband is a bank manager who doesnt believe in debt haha!! He's been helpful too so cant complain, just take time to explain how it happened to your sister and hopefuly she will come round. Good luck x

I am being made bankrupt by 1st credit, got hearing on 12th October, dreading it as i got a 5 month baby and all this stress hasnt helped..
