Weelz, first thoughts are, sadly, even if they are now including mat pay benefits with worker status (can look into that bit later). you personally would not get it as you are already pregnant before starting work for them under the new contract. You have to be employed for 26 weeks by your 25th week of pregnancy (aka started at least a week before you fell pregnant) to be eligible for SMP, otherwise it's MA that you're entitled too
ETA: unless of course they recognise your previous service within your new contract... hmmm
Will look into it a bit more for you later on tonight0 -
Hmm... Rocky road seems to of appeared in my freezer... Wonder how that happened...
I notice it also has a substitution of mini oreos where the digestives would be... Interesting...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Krystaltips wrote: »Weezl, you can tell them about the pg now... But it shouldn't make any difference to whether they offer you the position or not... If they withdrew the offer because of your pregnancy then it would be discrimination... So it doesn't matter if you don't tell them... You have until week 25
Thanks lovely
Is it a bit mean on them tho to not know? They might want to do something different if they know?
You mean you feel OK telling before the anomaly scan? Yeah, I think most people do and it's very reasonable to. I just feel a bit funny about it. Not sure why?

Hunny, if they offer you a job it's because they think you're bloomin good and don't want someone else to snaffle you... You being pregnant doesn't stop you being good at what you do... But might mean a bit of disruption to them if they have to find someone to cover for you while you're on maternity leave... If the thought of that disruption means they wouldn't give you the job then that's a bit mean on you...
And if you want to keep it to yourself until after the anomoly scan then that's OK... I can understandA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Is it therefore unethical/unfair for me not to immediately mention the pregnancy (I kinda prefer to wait til after anomaly scan...) since they may be making themselves liable for a financial outlay they don't know about.
Legally you don't have to tell them just yet.
Ethically - it's all down to how you feel and how you think relationships with the people you are working with/for will be affected.
Sitting here it's easy to say I wouldn't tell them as it would be better for me not to just yet, but if I thought it would cause bad feeling or make for a hostile atmosphere at work then I would consider telling them. Here I go again on my own....0 -

They do FT/organic but not everything is.You mean you feel OK telling before the anomaly scan? Yeah, I think most people do and it's very reasonable to. I just feel a bit funny about it. ... OH might be persuaded to make a tortilla press.
....
I wanted to tell everyone as late as possible but then I got admitted to hospital at 6 weeks. OH left messages with his customers for that day explaining he couldn't garden because of me being admitted to hospital (but didn't say why). One of them is from our church so phoned our minister who then phoned OH. OH told him and said that he could announce I was in hospital at the prayer meeting the following evening but not say I was pregnant so then we ended up having to tell everyone. We'd already had to tell our parents because I didn't go to visit my Auntie when he was gardening for her and so she asked if I was pregnant.
Your DH sounds very handy susan! Wow a tortilla press!:T:T:T
oh dear about the telling everyone! I guess there are loads of lovely positives about being in a caring community like your church sounds, I hope you were able to feel ok about everyone knowing quickly :rotfl:
