Dunno who to believe now!! I don't want to go back in the shop, I'm really bad at arguing with people, but it wasn't MY fault it broke.
What should I do? Cry down the phone ?
Button, it's really nothing to do with the warranty per se, it's only about an item that was bought and broke too soon. Quote Krystal's legal text at them! You don't need a warranty, it's basic UK retail law that you base your argument on - "reasonable expectation of an item's lifetime" etc0 -
Gosh that means I'd have to go back....
Cause the guy said they couldn't tell if it had been purposely damaged or not, as it's the outer casing hinge that's broken, so if I had dropped it, then it would be my fault and they just can't replace things like that.
So I should deffo go back and tell them to replace it? Cause I phoned Nintendo and they are sending me out forms to send the DS to them, but they will charge me £55?
I wonder if there is another gamestation in Aberdeen I could try, so I don't have to see the same guy....
WHY ARE THEY ALL CON MERCHANTS?!?!0 -
Eck, there is only 1.0

Oh yeah and he said to me that it's only valid if they sold something purposely defect to me, like when I got it, it didn't work, or the hinge was already broken. Not something that happened down the line 8months later, but on the other hand it should be expected to last longer than this.
Can you believe I have sweats thinking about going back to argue? I'm pathetic.0 -
BM - it might not be the same guy if yu go back anyway

Buttonmoons you're not pathetic, these people rely on making you feel that way so that you don't question them. Go back and remember we're all behind you :-)
I must be off now, children to collect and cuddle....will catch you all later at some point but thanks for the warm welcome

Oh BM, if you were local to me I would totally take it in and argue for you... He's talking out of his ar5e! If he sold it and then it broke it's defective and they should replace it or send it off to be fixed themselves at their cost!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

BM, go back. It's a common fault with the DS, we had to argue it out with Argos when DS1's broke after only a few months. You bought it from gamestation so they have to fix it or replace it (I think if it's under 6months old it's replaced, 6-12months its repaired). I've found that standing in the shop calling trading standards loudly usually works well
especially if they are busy.
But I do think games covercare is worth it, DS1 new DS (the old one broke again and I sold it on ebay as it was outwith the 12 month) has been repaireed twice (cracked screen and damaged screen after he dropped (threw) it with no argument, I know that the covercares are usually a con but we knew it would get broken several times so for us it was worth it.0 -
I'm sure you'll all [STRIKE]not care[/STRIKE] be pleased to know, I'm showered and dressed now
Have even just eaten.. errmm.. lunch too
OH brought home lasagne and wine so I guess that's my evening sorted. Feeling a tad guilty as I'm sat here drinking tea and he's on water cos we haven't got any sugar in the house (he has it in tea, I don't).. Will go out to the shop in a minute - let's hope no chocolate accidentially falls in the basket too :cool:0
