Alice likes lentil shakers too but I am wondering why you buy single pints of milk?

We only buy whole milk for Annabel and we use it in her porridge in the mornings and occassionally a little in her food - but a pint will last a long time, so to make sure it doesn't go off I buy the smallest size. We use semi-skimmed ourselves and buy that in bigger cartons (which I think would be far to large to make into baby shakers - cue funny picture:p)

These days professionals advise not feeding your baby cows milk as a drink until they are 12 months, although you can use it in their food. TBH I'd prefer to give it instead of formula, but can't bring myself to 'break the rules' - I have quite an old fashioned HV who usually tells me the 'rules' then winks and tells me it's actually up to me as the mother what I do, but for some reason she wasn't like that with this issue, making me relly think about it!!! I think it's to do with the ease of digestion.
Morning all. Well been busy today:j school run then 3 loads of washing done:eek:. One load on the line. Ironing board set up ready. Cleaned the kitchen and the lounge. So just sat down for a cup of tea :Dbefore twin DD and DS wake up. Asda shop first time on my own with them this pm only 7wks old! Wish me luck! (feel stressed just thinking about it) :o

I second MFD's tips. Last week I had to do a mammoth shop so took LO and myself to the cafe in the supermarket first for lunch as a wee treat. It meant she was fed, happy and ready for a change of scene when she went into the trolley ;)

Our bumbo isn't light and I would say it would definately cost me that to post it.

mazcab - John Lewis had a website like that for carseats and the maxi xosi isofix bases. They would probably be very helpful if you were to call them to ask about buggy boards. Again, they don't have to know you won't be buying it from them ;)

    morning/afternoon all

I am officially a cool big sister. My little bro didnt get up for school in time as his alarm clock didnt go off this morning. My dad (who he lives with) is away so he called me for help. I e-mailed the school and told them he was ill. He's been working really hard and been staying up late doing essays, so I told him to catch up on his sleep and work today. He knows its a one off but he's only 16 and my dad goes away for weeks at a time. The kid has to make all his meals, do the food shopping, wash his clothes, iron his shirts etc etc. He deserves a break.

The little munchkin has started to grab the arms of the sofa from a sitting position and haul herself to her feet, wobbles for a few seconds then falls back on her bum and laughs and laughs and laughs! She cant even crawl yet and already wants to be standing. She is so strong, people are always shocked when they hold her.

I'm trying to do some christmas shopping today and have budgeted for 5 people only at £30 per person. I think i'll get calenders done too with pics of the munchkin too.

Hope everyone's having a lovely day xxxx

Susan, as a pregnant lurker I just wanted to let you know that IKEA do offer fruit tea amd chamomile tea as well as hot chocolate for free too :money:. I know they're not to everyone's taste though!
Thanks. Will have to have words with OH as he told me there was only tea and coffee when I asked him if there was anything else.

You could buy a big bottle and then freeze it in small portions.

Am I really stingy - our budget is £8 per person apart from Alice who has had about £35 spent on her?

I hadn't thought of that Susan - but TBH, my freezer is taken up with bigger money saving things and I don't think it would make enough of a difference for me to worry about it too much ;) I'd love a chest freezer for the garage. A girl can dream..... ETA: I love your new avatar picture :D

LO off having a nap again and I'm managing lunch and a squiz on here :D

No, not at all stingy. I usually buy for about 25 people (cousins, aunties, uncles etc) but I have had to cut them all out this year and just buy for immediate family (mum, dad, hubby, brothers x 2). I used to spend between £10 and £25 per person for all 25. I would spend atleast £100 on my mum too but not this year. Leila's not getting anything from us either apart from her highchair in the January sales. If I can get away with spending £10 per person on something Leila related then even better!!
