Gawd, anyone would have thought you lived in another country with water between us or something!0 -
Love you too!
Ah, now to have leftovers would require me to eat a decent meal, wouldn't it? Hmmm..
Oh you so beat me to it!!!
You should be eating properly anyway lady! But I will admit to eating better since we started weaning (and shopping more often which makes me not want to buy takeaways)
You need a baby like mine. We went out for lunch on sunday, he ate a serving of chilli (that DSS won't eat yet!!) then sat in his highchair whilst we ate waving a piece of green cabbage around like it was the best thing in the world (kept offering a sucked bit to the 11 month old girl on the next table!!) and then ate all the strawberries off his daddy and his big brothers dessert plates!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Thanks everyone. I know that I am more than capable of doing things on my own, just having an emotional wobble every now and again!
Elle - Yay for Rhys, he is really coming along. I saw you have all been plotting weights etc. Holly was 59cm long when she was born. No-one has told me anything about percentiles, but I think that might put her in the 95th percentile if I have read about it correctly. Someone feel free to correct me if that's wrong. She has loooooong legs!!!
I have been doing things bit by bit and tomorrow I want to take Holly out shopping with OH coming but doing nothing, just so I can get a bit more confident with getting the pram in and out of the car and fitting the car seat to the adaptors etc! It is reallly basic stuff, but I just like to be sure. It's so not like me either as I am a pretty chilled out person with other things and not prone to worrying! Guess it comes with the territory of being a new parent.
I have been trying to do my birth story, but due to the diamorphine, I can barely remember much! OH has been trying to help me, but he is forgetting what happened too. I had a vaginal delivery, but it wasn't easy and I was pushing for nearly 3 hours and they were just about to give up on me. A lot of the emotional stuff is due to failing to breast feed though. I felt so much pressure at the hospital and had at least 30 different midwifes/bf support workers telling me different things and pushing me in different directions, when I hadn't slept for about 4 days and was totally confused. We eventually decided it wasn't good for my health, and Holly was dehydrated and jaundice and wouldn't latch on, so wasn't in her best interest either so switched to formula. But every time she is hungry and cries, I would end up in tears at not being able to feed her instantly and feeling like a failure. So I know a lot of it stems from that, and I still feel like I have failed her in a way, but I know we did what was best, and she won't be any worse off for it. It's just my emotions that have taken a beating!
Sorry, that went on a bit didn't it?! If you have read this far, you have done well!0 -
money_maker wrote: »OK, I'm confused are teacakes not little biscuit base buns with jam and mashmallow filling covered in chocolate ???
I'd have described them as hot X buns, without the X.
Either way, cheese and jam is wrong!My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »You need a baby like mine. He's such a kind gentleman - nobody has ever offered me a bit of sucked green cabbage!
I'm still here and ironing, chatting to work friend on facebook and keeping up with you lot. Excellent multi-tasking I think.:beer:0 -
He's not having my strawberries!
Come to think of it, I've only been eating strawberries for the last few years..
I have to admit, I am in such a better mood for having been out today - and maybe the thought of OH now being home too. When it comes to weaning, my intention is to go to the market for everything fresh so then we get a walk around town and not just a supermarket.
Apparently my mum used to take us into town and nip the market and buy just two bananas so we had something to snack on / to keep us quiet while mum shopped0 -
MM - Those teacakes are an English thing! I come from the land of Tunnocks teacakes! Completely different things!!0

Do you have Soreen? (seems really weird to ask such a question!) That's malt loaf tooNot seen your version before.
Fitz, 59cm sounds long to me. My friend's baby was 63cm and there were a lot of raised eyebrows at that (and wondering where she hid him!) but then his dad is 6ft 8!
*hugs* again. I've still not been into town on my own with Rhys. Have been about three times with my mum and once with my sister. Don't know why I don't go on my own now really cos I feel brave enough now (certainly didn't at the beginning!) and I just get ratty with having my mum watching me now0 -
