Before I run away, Fitzio, do talk to us if you're feeling blue - we are good at listening
(Plus we aren't real!) ... have you shared your birth story? Talking about it might help you to get yourself less traumatised by it?

Sorry Fitzio, didn't mean to skip over the baby blues bit, i'm a bit sleepy and need to get to bed., i get forgetful otherwise.
do talk if your feeling down, but don't worry, a certain amount of crying is Ok i'm sure. I certainly did. there's an incredible amount of pressure with a new baby and an enourmous amount of guilt that your not good enough, along with a bit of grief if the birth didn't go as planned IYSWIM. Mine certainly didn't. But you will get there and it seems like Holly is a dream at the moment.
Right, gotta go to bed. No OH and I'm sure Tomos knows so prob in for a hell of a night.
Night all

.. Kind of dreading DH going back to work and being left on my own, but looking forward to the challenge at the same time. I am quite shocked to read how little some men seem to get involved, and I count myself really lucky as DH has been very hands on, but at the same time, I think he has been a bit too involved and I have felt a bit sidelined and lacking in confidence as he has taken control of everything. I know his intentions are to make my life easier whilst he is on leave, but it’s really left me feeling a bit useless. I have explained this to him though, and things have gotten better....
*hugs*
Rhys came home from hospital on a Tuesday and OH went back to work on the following Monday (as he'd had 3 wks off when Rhys was first born). OH kinda did the same and took over doing a lot of the prep work with Rhys' bottles so I ended up not very confident in doing it. What we did was I did almost everything on the Saturday to make sure I was okay with it all on my own, then OH helped again on Sunday to give me a rest and then I was okay for the Monday. Maybe that would work for you
ETA: I just realised Holly's birth weight in the same as Rhys' weight now.. :j Sorry, I'm a tad obsession with reaching everyone's birth weightMy_Fathers_Daughter wrote: ».. JAM AND CHEESE TOGETHER???? !!!!!
Too right! Hot toasted teacake, lots of butter, strawberry jam and slices of cheese (cold) on top.. :drool:I don't understand the ice cube stuff
So how do you do yours?Or are you just in the swing of being prepared now and don't have to wait in a panic for something to defrost?

Yay - hope it works for you SM!!Hi everyone,
Not really managed to keep up with this thread yet, but been reading bits and bobs when I get a spare minute. Hoping to have more time next week when DH is back at work, but seem to have more visitors lined up every day, so not sure how it’s going to work!
Holly is 3 weeks old tomorrow. She really has been a dream baby so far. She only cries when she wants fed or her nappy changed, and even then it’s not much. Not sure if this is normal and it’s going to get worse, but fingers crossed she will remain so sweet!
Hiya Fitzio - don't forget we all love to hear about newborns so don't be a stranger. Honestly, I think I speak for everyone when I say for the first month or two we really don't give a poopy whether you know what is going on with us or not, just let us know how you are doing!!
Baby blues are crap! But baby hormones go on for a long time after so don't be surprised if you cry at everything for a long time yet (my baby is nearly 7 months and I still like a good old cry!). My MW said it is the ones that can't cry that they worry about!!
Things will change loads with LO but treasure every moment (even the tough times) because it really does fly by! I know everyone says that but it is SO true!!

No, like breadbuns with sultanas in..0 -
MM - there are two type of tea cakes the chocolate covered marshmallow ones your thinking of. The ones Elle is talking about are like sweet bread rolls with sultanas/raisins in (think hot cross buns without the candied peel and mixed spice)
