Can i just ask a question without being shot?
Can i ask what naps your LO's have during the day and if they sleep through. I know this sounds really daft to be complaining about but im getting worried about the amount of sleep Rose is having.
At the moment (9 months nrxt week!) we are on:
bed by about 7:30. Wake up at least once in the night for 20 mins or so (she was sleeping through for a bit, but the last week or so we're back to at least 1 wake-up in the night. Normally waking up just as I want to go to bed, then again around 1:30am)
up at 6am
2 naps for around an hour each.
Sometimes naps are longer and sometimes (like today) non existant!
I would echo the others and say to make the most of it. But there is no point worrying, do speak to your HV next week and let her put your mind at restKrystaltips wrote: »I've broken hubby's lappyit fell off the arm of the chair and the bit you plug the charger into disappeared inside... Oh no! Are you in trouble?My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »It's so tough isn't it? But I do think that if you are going back to work you need to start to leave LO for periods of time sooner rather than later. You know my friend with the little girl who just turned one? She left it until she went back to spend a day away from LO and it was an awful, awful wrench for the 2 of them. These things need to be gradual IMHO, I have always had one eye on the fact that I will go back to work and that Benjamin will be looked after by someone else and I have tried to make him as independant as possible with this in mind.
Your LO seems happy in the company of others for a while, you need to foster this whilst you can, even if it is just a full day with MIL
MFD is being wise again. This is what I did with Izzy. I'm lucky that my mum is local and doesn't work (or at least no-one pays her), so we could build up gradually. Started off with leaving her for a few hours and built up from there, so by the time I went back to work she was used to being with my Mum all day. Not quite as long a day as she is now I'm back at work, but it hasn't been too much of an upheaval.
It probably helps that she has always been a big tart though, and happy to play with whoevever she meets - just in her nature.Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

I go back on 23rd November, and only went to see the first nursery yesterday! I've been avoiding thinking about it hoping it would go away.
Angela - they're all so different. My first was a wonderful sleeper, day and night. I remember thinking how easy this being a mum lark was! Then I had my second!
Someone on ebay is really p'ing me off!
I've got a pile of baby equipment up on ebay, all ending on Saturday.
This bloke messaged me the other day, asking if he won could he collect as he's local. I said that was ok, as i'd mentioned in the listing.
Next day I get another message, he's spotted something else i'm selling and offered £30.00 buy it now for both, and he'd collect that morning.
I said i've got over 15 watchers on each, so to be fair to all, i'd let the auction run.
Today I get another message, saying I can end the listings early, and he'll pay £30 for the two and collect today. At this point, one has bids of 17.50, the other is at 18.25?!?
Is he for real!
I really hope he doesn't win anything!:beer:0 -
angel - my childminder does a 4 week settling in period free of charge to gradually get LO used to being away from you. I feel the same - I want to go back to work but don't want to leave Caitlyn with anyone.
I went to see the childminder last week. She looks after Josh in the holidays so we keep in touch. When Caitlyns bum needed changing she got the mat out and just did it. She'll hold her as soon asI get there. She's really good but I still feel guilty.
it's so difficult isn't it. am i bad to say that even though i knew i'd love my baby when i was pregnant i never fully appreciated just how much and how returning to work would be sooooooo difficult.0 -
I know I'm never here anymore, but I have much napping to catch up on when Himself is asleep (pregnant again), so never on the computer anymore.
But. A few weeks ago he was teething and after one dose of calpol he refused to have any more drugs, so suffered for four or five days. But now he's ill, hacking cough and now a fever. And refusing any medication. Forcing him just gets us all covered in gloop. How can I give him medicine?? He's like a furnace right now, bless him, and I don't like it.
PS - Hi everyone :wave::wall:0 -

MFD - you are right, i do mean knocking out breakfast. she seems happy with a bottle at the minute, and then she may take lunch and dinner, whereas at the minute she wont have lunch and very little at dinner. just thought of going back to square one (although not in terms of puree...keep texture and meat etc in)0

Agutka - i'm sure someone said recently they'd put the calpol in the milk!?! It doesn't sound very nice, but it worked for them!:beer:0

AF - ask your MIL to have LO one day next week for a few hours. I presume that she is one of your options? And even if she isn't every grandparent deserves some time alone with their grandchild
(I do understand that the above is a contraversial statement and expect to be regaled with gossip about terrible grandparents :rotfl:)Not sure when I'm going back to work yet but will prob be around Feb. When should I start looking for a childminder peeps? Not sure when to start looking as not certain about when I'm going back yet.
I started looking with a month to go but that was because I was in denial and I have a back-up for the 2 days a week I am starting on (I love my MIL!!).
[/QUOTE]How adorable and devastating at the same time!
Yup - that is my son all over!!! Like when he decides he wants a kiss but he is covered in porridge - hands and face!!! He can't kiss without hands at the moment and he only gives them to me!! I wish it could be like this forever (without the porridge in my hair obviously!!)please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
