    Hi girls,

Just a quick msg to say hi whilst I'm hol

The internet connectio isn't great plus we've been out and about lots so I have had much chance to come on.

I haven't read back at all but hugs to everyone who needs them.

LO has been really unsettled which has made me a bit down (especially as there are other babies here who are calm, placid and barely cry whereas LO has been the complete opposite!). Hoping it sorts out soon cos I really need more sleep and to feel less stressed.

I was in boots and until 20th Oct they are doing 3 4 2 on pampers nappies (we use them during the day). This makes size 4 active fit nappies £18 for 3 packs. Also, in my parenting post out I had £5 off a £15 spend on baby products voucher which meant I paid £13 for three packs or £4.33 or so per pack :D
They also have (or had on Saturday - don't know how long it is) triple points when you spend £20 on baby stuff.

Weaning-ish question.. Do you sterilise spoons, food pots etc?
I believe the official advice is to sterilise up to 12 months but my HV said that babies who are being weaned put that much in their mouths anyway that theres no need but you should always sterilise bottles and teats.
I forgot to say. Benjamin seems to like his food cold - so I tend to feed him some things straight out of the fridge :o including mash etc. Although my MIL has said that if she catches me doing it she will serve me my sunday roast out of the fridge and see how I like it :rotfl:

I always heat up things with meat or lots of fat in them though (to let them go cold again!!)
Alice mainly gets cold food. I still put her plate/bowl in the freezer to help cool her food. I just don't want her to get burned.

RMAC - if you don't mind me asking, as you're my baby-twin - what is your typical daily feeding pattern? I sometimes feel that i'm feeding Violet all day long and wondering if its too much.
Normally, Milk, breakfast, milk, dinner, milk, tea, milk! Normally with 2ish hours between each?
That's pretty much Alice's pattern except it's milk, breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, milk.

And I forgot to say MFD my baby loves Chilli, and had pasta with tomato and chilli sauce the other night. (although she gets the childrens version, before I add the proper chilli for me & OH!).
One thing you do have to watch with chilli is that they don't get it in their eyes. We had a  incident with tomato chilli pasta one time because Alice was eating with her hands and then rubbed her eye. We now watch her like a hawk whenever we do strong chilli.

  • Morning all. I'm on holiday today (on my 3rd week back at work - not bad going ;) ) as my Mum is away. Couldn't leabe Izzy home alone just yet, she might throw a party or something ;)

I hope everyone is ok. I've not caught up for a few days, so I'm out of the loop completely :( I have just ordered my first christmas presents though - the book people have some good bundle deals on at the mo (and quidco cashback too ;) ), and I thought I'd have a quick look, and found bits for DH, and for SIL. The only problem now is that I've bought a set of 10 books for £10 for her, and it's going to look like I've spent more on her than everyone else. :rotfl:Maybe I'll keep a couple for me :A.

My quest for the next few days is to scour the internet bookmarking ideas for everyone then I can order a few a month till christmas, and make sure DH orders some too! Then I have £20 worth of boots points, so the difficult people we have left over at the end are getting smellies ;)

Hi :) I've always sterilised the bottles+teats, but haven't with bowls/plates/spoons. They pick up so much when crawling etc that I decided not to, just wash with hot soapy water.

I've got a new storage unit/cupboard across my one wall now-so infront of the heater, will hopefully stop Elliot from getting near it again. Have had a big sort out and re-arranged all the furniture :)

    Morning all..

I'm sure it's probably just the after effects of the sedative (and not a breakthrough!), but Rhys slept six hours last night, fed at 6am and is still asleep now :D Normally he's awake hungry at 4am and again at 7am. Was very confused when I woke up to no crying, just a snoring baby next to me!:o

Day off from appointments today. Going to try to have a bit more of a sort out and start piling things in the bathroom (where the loft hatch is) so they get in OH's way and he puts them in the loft for me ;) Depends how clinging Rhys is when he wakes up..

Thankyou for all the input on sterilising. I think I'll do it for the first couple of months as we're starting at 5mths and Rhys isn't crawling around the floor picking up all sorts yet :)

Aww - poor Alice! That's painful.

We had a similar incident but it was OH preparing chillies, and not washing his hands properly before going to the loo! I'm sure it wasn't as bad as he made out - he said the burning sensation was the same, if not worse, than childbirth!

It's a horrid day here - pouring down with rain. Not sure what to do with ourselves. I had planned on a trip to Liverpool in search of wallpaper - but its too wet.

Up and ready to call the stupid childminder network lady this morning. I am going to try and drop into conversation that she didn't tell me who she was yesterday.
I cried about it when I told hubby too :o I really have turned into a big old sap. I wondered if it was my pill making me hormonal - anyone else on Cerazette?

Ladybird, I have tons of stuff bookmarked but no money to buy it! Roll on proper paydays :D

Pampers are also on offer in tescos - but at at £6 a pack and only 48 nappies per size 4 pack, instead of 50 per pack in Boots ?????

Went to Morrisons on Saturday and got a couple of the 12 pack boxes of wipes and some nappies but think I need to update my spreadsheet and look for the best place to stock up on some more... so far I only have 3 packs of size 1's for bump!

Bad night's sleep last night. LO went to sleep at 8.30 as no nap yesterday and then woke up hysterical at about 2.30 but just wouldnt settle for me, OH went in and was quiet straight away. Then woke up as OH came back to bed so he spent the night on the floor again in LO's room. Not the best time for an arguement is it at 2.30 in morning !!!

Which post has the latest update on the weight spreadsheet ?

And Weezl - did I pm you my address, cant remember?

Oh and picking up prescription later from Drs thanks Sami

DH did that a few weeks ago - he disapeard off to the bathroom for ages. We were wondering where he had gone - turned out he was sat crying in a cold bath .

I have gifts bookmarked for about half the family now... no idea what to get any of the parents though. Or my Granny. I've also added a few things to my list too, which wasn't really the plan. (and e-mailed my mum and brother the link to what we all want - MIL already has it... that was the point of the list after all :) )
