I've always stored Charlotte's clothes in her bedroom. She's got a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.

Even if Rhys hasn't got his own room yet, could you use a room as a dressing room for him and keep all his stuff in there?
Here I go again on my own....

    :)Still searching .....:)
  • I go off to work for 3 days and you have gossipped so much there is a new thread!

Work is strangely not as hard as I thought it would be and Izzy is enjoying nursery. She is very clingy in the evenings, but that is only to be expected I think. Hopefuly she will calm down a bit after a few weeks.

Oh, and I think we have a nearly talking baby - she says mamamamamamamama whenever she wants me, or wants me to do something. That may just be my wishful thinking though ;)

Anyhow, we're off to see my Granny again today, so I need to see if this baby wants a nap before I start packing, or if she wants to help me. Hopefully I will pop back in before we go, and see how you all are this morning!

Morning! Guess who is only slightly tired and no longer the walking dead :D
Elle it is blasphamy to just shove vests in that thing! Vests must me neatly folded at all times :d Chris has drawers and a freestanding hanging rail and Ed has a wardrobe and some drawers (that will be the other way around if I ever find the energy :p)

Thanks guys for all of the advice already!
They aren't particularly sore at the moment, but they are rock solid. MW visited today, but didn't say much as I hadn't decided for definite at that point whether to continue trying to express or not. I have bought a cabbage (a white one, so not sure if that makes a difference) and it's in the fridge just now. Will see how we go tonight then and if it's sore tomorrow, I will express a little bit.

    Night all. x

fitz I wore a M and S minimiser bra while my supply was drying up, and found the extra supportiveness and slight 'squish' they give to your boobs very comforting :)

Good news on the weight gain. Please do update us when you know more about the bloods :( The nurses here think it's really funny that I ask so many questions about Rhys' care and his blood levels (have been asking for a guide to the boundaries today). Can't understand why anyone wouldn't want to know everything there is to know about it, but they're obviously not used to it..

on 'babies at risk' a documentary on sky 3 about SCBU, one of the consultants was saying that often the dads become the one who asks all the questions and likes to know, because for them it's a way of dealing with not knowing what to do and how best to help. Perhaps they don't often meet well informed mums like you elle?

Just remember the rabbit comments after weezl posted that list, hence that's what I searched for ;)

NB, anyone looking at my packing list, Rabbit is fergies fave cuddly! :)

    Managed to speak to HR...

They are saying they'll still give me the enhanced part of my mat pay, it's just the SMP that's in jeopardy! Not sure whether to get my hopes up cos the guy seemed unsure, but maybe a bit quietly yay! :j

Sami, I'm so glad you feel more rested, does that mean ed-gah ;)is sleeping more?

Originally we had Alice's clothes in a tallboy which has three drawers and a shelf but then we were lent a wardrobe so hung up most of her clothes. When we moved we gave the wardrobe back and got a cheap clothes rail so that the clothes are low enough for Alice to reach. (We actually got one of those ones with two rails so the top one is "growing into" clothes and the bottom one is current clothes.) There are two little drawers in the dressing table so one has ribbons, hair bobbles etc and the other has babylegs and socks. We keep pants in a toddler stool in the bathroom which has a storage compartment. Currently we have grown out of clothes in boxes but am thinking of getting some vacuum storage bags.
How jealous am I! We got a book which Alice stopped bothering with after a few days so we are giving it to someone else (who will absolutely love it) as a birthday present. We would normally spend around £5 on a present for him so it means we've broken even. Alice was so not bothered about the book that after OH and I discussed giving it as a present, Alice ran and got it out shouting, "Joshua's present, Joshua's present." and then started rummaging through the wrapping paper drawers.

There's a lovely park opposite called Herrington Country Park. There's loads of open space to walk around in, a lake where you can feed the ducks and a play park. Sometimes there are horses in the fields next to it and they're friendly for stroking.
Thanks, Alice will love that - she's mad about horses.

Anyway, my question is, my milk has now come in and my already heavy breasts are weighing a tonne. Any tips on how to get rid of the milk? I am not sure if I have caused myself problems by starting to express or if they would have been this full regardless. Any ideas?
Expressing a small amount can relieve the discomfort but will make it take longer for the milk to dry up. There are things which can help the milk to dry up but I don't know whether GPs prescribe them or not.
Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.

Was thinking of getting one of these for vests, sleepsuits and socks (aka the things which don't need to be kept neat!).

I have one of those for Katies cuddly bears.... althou make sure u hang it from something sturdy, i put hers on the curtain pole, and its too heavy and keeps falling down as the attachment loop is only velcro.!!!

I too have one of these in the nursery, stuffed full of cuddly toys (all mine, but Andrew will get them in time), hung on a hook into the ceiling. But mine also falls down, I'm thinking I'll have to stitch the loop closed as the velcro won't hold.

I think it'd work for storing soft clothes, particularly if you rolled them up rather than folding them (remember that each shelf is circular). I got a cheap chest of drawers from a charity shop for Andrew's clothes, though most of them are now in storage boxes under the cot as I make room for tiny-baby-sized things!
