I've spent most of today in the bath, this first period has kicked my !!!. I was in so much pain this morning that my hubby asked me if he should call an ambulance but some very strong codeine and a very hot bath seems to have worked for now. Hubby is off work this week so he just brought baby G up for her feed then took her away to play and let me relax. I married a superstar!
 Are they usually that bad? I was worried about what it would be like because before Alice mine were always really bad (the pain would actually make me throw up) but they've been much better since Alice (gradually getting worse but nothing like before).

Awww, so cute! :D And how are you doing? Any joy getting hold of that secretary yet?

Got an appointment on the 13th. Don't think I've got enough medication to last till then, so will have to see GP again. She said a letter was in the post to me, so we'll see what that says. Bit down today, didn't go out, just feel a bit bleugh. Sleeping better though, which is nice. I'm hopeful this medication might be the one! Tenth time lucky maybe.

Aww Feely, bet those hugs are just the very best ever!

Sami, is he bringing up all the gunk? Hopefully it's productive and he gets over it soon.

Tigs, that was something I wondered about babies in SCBU. Do they not cry frequently? Why is that? Do they cry for comfort, or are they too little to do that? (Hope you don't mind the question, just interested. I've always wanted to ask, but always worry about upsetting/offending)

What's frequently? Andrew's cried a couple of times when we've been there, don't know how often when we're not, but you really cannot hear it outside of the incubator anyway so I wouldn't know if other babies were crying or not (except for the ones in cots). They don't seem to cry often, I presume that this is because they're being tended for 100% in the way that they've always known - they're used to little direct contact, regular feeds, nappies not changed instantly, so they don't cry because their routine isn't broken.

Sounds like I'm lucky with our SCBU having curtained sections, but then it is brand new - only open since mid-July. We do also have breastfeeding rooms on SCBU which I've used on occasion, but I prefer to express by Andrew's side (mental stimulation) and the nurses seem okay with that arrangement, despite the noise of the machine.
