I'll have to add that to my list of things to do. Alice has never been and I don't think OH has either.
There's a lovely park opposite called Herrington Country Park. There's loads of open space to walk around in, a lake where you can feed the ducks and a play park. Sometimes there are horses in the fields next to it and they're friendly for stroking.
Charlotte has come down with a cold. She was crying in her bed when I went up for a shower and she said she wanted to sleep in Mammy's bed. I popped her in our bed and went for a shower and when I came back she was laying there "reading" a Steven King book :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0 -

i have a sore back tonight.... not sure if it's post pregnancy related but it is lower back and very achy. my LO was back to back (didnt know at the time) and the pain i get now is like what it felt like when i was in early labour. memories memories.
LO seems settled at the minute. fingers crossed it stays that way. i have not put any blankets on her tonight. she has a sleepsuit and a short sleeved vest on. egg says it's 24C but i can't see how as it doesnt feel that warm in the bedroom. i normally have blankets on her but after reading a post on the old thread, i thought of trying it tonight and seeing what happens.0 -

Good evening ladies (and gentlemen!).
Thought I would pop over and say hello/ask for advice. Had a gorgeous baby girl on Saturday called Holly and currently working on birth story to put on the other thread, but needing DH to fill in the blanks for me!
I had planned to breastfeed, but those of you who remember me from the pregnancy thread will know that I have massive breasts (which I hate, I am not boasting!) and we have had problems with Holly latching on. This resulted in her not getting enough and as she developed jaundice and was dehydrated and I was terribly stressed from hand expressing colostrum, we have decided not to breastfeed, but to stick with bottle (she had required top ups of formula due to the dehydration). It was a difficult decision as I had kept trying her on the breast and expressing into a syringe whilst topping up with formula, but it's just not worth the stress and depression that had been creeping in (and it's only day 4!). Everyone at hospital was very keen to help, however, everyone had conflicting advice and I was getting far too much pressure from all directions that it just didn't make sense to continue.
Anyway, my question is, my milk has now come in and my already heavy breasts are weighing a tonne. Any tips on how to get rid of the milk? I am not sure if I have caused myself problems by starting to express or if they would have been this full regardless. Any ideas?
I had been lurking before giving birth, but not had a chance to catch up on any news, so apologies for jumping into the middle of conversations! Just need some advice at the moment, but will join in more later. Thanks. x0
