Thanks guys for all of the advice already!
They aren't particularly sore at the moment, but they are rock solid. MW visited today, but didn't say much as I hadn't decided for definite at that point whether to continue trying to express or not. I have bought a cabbage (a white one, so not sure if that makes a difference) and it's in the fridge just now. Will see how we go tonight then and if it's sore tomorrow, I will express a little bit.

    Night all. x

Ohh I am soo happy tonight :) I just checked my ebay sales and 9 of my 28 listings have got bids on them already and 6 more have watchers :):):):):)

I love it when that happens but I find I'm always checking my eBay every hour to see if I've got anymore!
oooooooo forgot to say ive booked myself in for a smear next week and im getting my knee checked out (been damaged for about 3 weeks now) ..

think it was bm who put the idea in my head ... cheers chick x

I had a letter today about my smear! Asked MW about it yesterday - wondered how long I should wait. She said 'They may do it at 6 week check at GP's' I explained I was having check at hospital but she didn't know when I could have my smear!

    Good evening ladies (and gentlemen!).

Thought I would pop over and say hello/ask for advice. Had a gorgeous baby girl on Saturday called Holly and currently working on birth story to put on the other thread, but needing DH to fill in the blanks for me!

I had planned to breastfeed, but those of you who remember me from the pregnancy thread will know that I have massive breasts (which I hate, I am not boasting!) and we have had problems with Holly latching on. This resulted in her not getting enough and as she developed jaundice and was dehydrated and I was terribly stressed from hand expressing colostrum, we have decided not to breastfeed, but to stick with bottle (she had required top ups of formula due to the dehydration). It was a difficult decision as I had kept trying her on the breast and expressing into a syringe whilst topping up with formula, but it's just not worth the stress and depression that had been creeping in (and it's only day 4!). Everyone at hospital was very keen to help, however, everyone had conflicting advice and I was getting far too much pressure from all directions that it just didn't make sense to continue.

Anyway, my question is, my milk has now come in and my already heavy breasts are weighing a tonne. Any tips on how to get rid of the milk? I am not sure if I have caused myself problems by starting to express or if they would have been this full regardless. Any ideas?

I had been lurking before giving birth, but not had a chance to catch up on any news, so apologies for jumping into the middle of conversations! Just need some advice at the moment, but will join in more later. Thanks. x

I got my advice from a MM one late night when I was going mad about my big heavy boobs!

Mine took 2-3 days to go down - I found a nice warm shower relieved them althou it does make you leak a bit. Now, they are back to being small and pert :j:j

Carla - will PM u in the monring cos Jack is being a grump and OH wants to go to bed! Thanks very much xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I love this website - you girls (and guys ;)) are all so wonderful with your helpful advice and support :kisses3:

Where does the time go?
  • Oh my lord!!! Look what Bizziebaby want me to test:

    http://www.wambaby.com/bottle.html :eek::eek::eek::eek:

I have sent them a polite email saying that as a breastfeed baby who is baby led weaning we are probably not the best choice of tester...

...just a small white lie (we are only part BLW) but probably more diplomatic than saying that I think that the product is disgusting and that she should send it to some chav that wants to put baby rice in the babys bottle at 3 weeks
