Afternoon all...been trying to lurk and keep up but not very sucessfully!!
I cant remember all i was trying to remember i wanted to say once i got time to post. Em...i dont smoke either but you have dont so well to stop in the first place, that has to be the hardest thing to do!!
Elle, the HV came to see us re weaning last week. She said i should be starting now ( or as she said, should have already started ) I said i thought the guidelines has changed to 6 months? She said they should be taking lumps by 6 months to help with speach development.
Anyway, I gave rose a small taste of carrot and butternut squash and also porridge. She seems to have loved it but im aware of trying to not overload her.
Also, HV also said she should be taking 3 meals a day plus all of her milk she is currently taking up to 1 year old...that seems an awful lot to me. Surely the milk should get less and less as her food intake increases? Its so long since i had this with my other two that i cant remember xDS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -
We didn't go into that much detail - get next week out the way then we'll talk about it - but I think we might have to avoid bananas and other high potassium foods as Rhys' potassium levels have always been an issue.
Elle here is a list of foods sorted according to their potassium content, with the highest displayed first.

Hello everyones and welcome to even more new mums.
For weaning people, OH found this yesterday, it seems to have a lot of AK recipies on.

DD's bottom is looking a little better today, and she seems happier. It's been a lovely car until Nationwide Autocentre serviced it and MOT'd it in April. They broke a fuel pipe changing the fuel filter and couldn't get a replacement part. It took over three months before I finally got the new part and it still never ran right after it was fitted. I complained but they said there was nothing wrong with the car. I'm going to ask the new garage if it's anything Nationwide have done.
 It wouldn't suprise me!
OH is a bit of a car nerd - so replaced the brake pads/discs (whatever they're called) on his last car, in preparation for its MOT.
For some reason he took it to our Nationwide Autocentre for the MOT, and it failed on several things, the main one being the brake pads needed replacing as they were very worn! Then they quoted him a ridiculous price for the work!
So, he took the car straight to our little independant garage - where it passed it's MOT with no faults or advisorys!:beer:0 -
I wonder if that (fortified with iron) is why it's pushed by HV so much? Must bear that in mind (sugar rush).Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Wow, bananas are well down the list! I was just going on what one of the neonatal (former renal) nurses told me. The comms nurse was talking about mashed potato with added cream, butter AND cheese! She's going to remind the consultant that Rhys is "knocking on a bit now"(!!) and see about some referrals to the dietician up here etc. I knew we had a dietician in Notts but apparently one of them up here knows all about him too
It feels a bit strange.. in one way, I wish we could just get on with it ourselves without interference (sp?), but then I think I haven't got a clue what I'm doing so I'm glad I've got all their backupWill give the HV a call too, see what she's got to say - probably a box to tick somewhere!

elle, here's a list for sodium too if that helps...
angela the formula tub from 6 months says quite a lot less milk than the FF milk before 6 months, so I just follow what it says on the box and supplement with whatever food he'll take
