Just quick one to say I have read back and am sending hugs for poorly bums, nursery issues, eye contact worries, annoyed sami (did I miss why?),hormones

Claps for nodding babies, breastfeeding milestones, first baby kicks and just generic claps to everyone - you ladies (and bruno and the missing dad of many girs) you all seem to have so much going on in your lives but you all manage to stay so positive and wonderful and so generous with your time and thoughts.

Seeing the GP today. OH is coming with me to explain to him that I appear to have gone incredibly crazy and paranoid. Could be true, I don't know. Maybe I am imagining everything?

is that why they are changing the name then?

I hate seeing him like this! Took 30ml at 11.30pm, then 120ml at 3am, 90ml at 5am and woke me up at 8am but has only taken 40ml. Gonna give it a week on this milk but if nothing changes I might put him on the hungry baby version of Aptamil to see if that satisfies him a bit more. maybe going longer between feeds will mean less discomfort

I changed to Aptamil Hungry baby a couple of weeks ago. Alex still seems to want feeding every two hours thou. I only make up 4 oz, some times he drinks it all, if he's actually gone 3-4 hours, other times, he still only does 2 oz. The good thing about it is that he seems to acutally keep it down, instead of projectile vomiting it back up, like he did with the Aptamil 1 and Easy digest.

Also, with the Easy digest the little booklet says to use no. 2 teats as its thicker, Jack may be just getting tired and falling asleep, because he has to work too hard to get the milk out, if you are using no.1 teats. - Just a thought.

Its a nightmare isn't it. I feel like i am permenantly feeding and sterelising bottles and nothing else. Alex is at my mums today and Joe (DS1) is at Half term soccer camp. I am supposed to be doing some work for work, to get some more cash. Really need to get motivated. Doing my boss's expenses is not really my idea of fun:rolleyes:

MFD do you think she is overstimulated? i dont think everyone saying there is something wrong will help your niece in anyway(sorry!) i think that she need to realise and come to terms herself, everyone has always commented on charlie but i wouldnt listen. one day i read up a few things and thats when it all clicked into place, i think if people were pushing me into things i would have blown up, remeber your baby is perfect and for someone to say something negative could have terrible effects.

weezl i compare my lot to others as well, i think its a natural thing to do. i find though that babies who have older siblings do come on a lot quicker as they are desperate to join in or have something the others are! charlie was slower but he would shout and point and everyone would go running so he didnt have to move!

hows the packing scruffy! did you get results elle? good luck at the docs feelie! yey andrew for being a fighter and hugs for everyone else as i cant keep up

well i have a very sicky baby, she has a really bad stomach and when i went to get her up she had been sick everywhere :( my washing machine hasnt stopped. kids loved their first day at school and have made lots of friends. there seems to be a lot on in the area for kids but i am a little worried as megan imformed me there is a childs spin class on??? abi was nervous at nursery and i had to show her when i would be back, as i walked out the door i could see her looking at the clock.

ETA: Random question for Wigan-ers.. Do you ever go to Taybarns? I'd never heard of them 'til they were mentioned on BBC Brekkie this morning. Was just having a neb at their website and noticed they have one in Wigan. Apparently they're growing in popularity despite the recession (that's what the article was about).

Elle, I am a Wiganer and have been to Taybarns a couple of times. I think its alright, loads of choice, from salads, soups, pasta, chinese, chicken, pizza, chips, also carvery, beef, turkey, ham, plus all veg and roast potatoes. Loads of different puddings and an ice cream machine for the kids, or big kids. Probably loads of food too, that my baby brain has let me forget. Set price and you can go back as many time as you want, or pick and mix, if you fancy a bit of chinese and a roast!

Not exactly fine dining, and the queues can sometimes be huge, its cheaper before 5pm, but it cheap and fun.

    Hi Bails,

Sorry about the delay in getting back to your pm :o

    Congrats on your engagement :)

a quick summary of what I know so far.

Calcium and iron are especially required in the formation of a healthy foetus. If mum is depleted or doesn't eat enough of those, the body will continue to give those minerals to the foetus at the expense of the mother. This will happen until the mother's body begins to shut down on vital functions, at which point the body is more likely to reject the foetus.

Of particular concern are mum's who have a less than 6 month window between childbirth/miscarriage and a second conception. If the mum is depleted in iron her body mightn't be able to form healthy placental tissue. This means the chances of prematurity increase by 4 times with a small gap between pregnancies. Also the baby can be more unwell, or of low birth weight.

A diet low in carbohydrate has been shown to increase chances of Inter-Uterine Growth Retardation.

A diet too high in Vitamin A in the first trimester leads to cranial-neural crest deformities.

Folic acid, much has been written about so I'm sure you know ;)

Brain development in Trimester 3 is aided by a diet high in omega 3 and 6.

Maternal dehydration can lead to insufficient amniotic fluid, or foetal dehydration which can damage the forming kidneys. It can also slow or stop labour.

I'll keep thinking and get back to you!

    Weezl the geek :) xxx
