Last night he made dinner after i fell asleep on the couch (just started back at work after 8 yrs and finding it hard to adjust) he also washed up and tidied the kitchen and went to the shop for the milk i forgot!!!!
All this despite having to get up at half four in the morning for work, it almost made me cry!!!!!!
I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.
  • I had flowers delivered at work the other day from my OH, it was so unexpected and i was completley shocked, when i asked him why he decided to do it he said that he has always wanted to spoil me but could never afford it but now he can.

We've been married five years and although it's hard to think of 'romantic' exactly, there are lots of things that are extremely thoughtful and show he really thinks about me, and to me that's as good. It was my birthday yesterday and he picked me up from the station after work, made a little party fior us and our four year old boy, with choc cake, champagne and some really considered presents. There were some that were personal - two pieces of jewellery very closely resembling all thethings I kept picking up and looking at when we were on holiday earlier in teh year - good observation. Then there was a lovely quilt for our bed like the kindo f thing you would see on Kirstie's homemade home, which we both watched and loved - in really great colours for our bedroom, which he had completely redecorated last month.

He tells me all the time how lucky he is to have me, and that he still fancies me as madly as he did when we first got together.

    So I feel pretty lucky!

But most men only notice the pervy things
    Why is that confusing.......?

Aw dead pleased to see such lovely things being posted!

sarahs999 you touched on something I was going to put in my original post, about OHs doing nice things that are thoughtful and/or romantic, and if the two are separate? (but both lovely! :) )

Also was interested in what male OHs appreciate or have remembered that their OHs do and if it differs?

My OH does lots of thoughtful things... not grand gestures but little things like gets me my favourite drink from the shop just because, always does the driving when we're together because he knows I'm not fond of it, will insist dinner was lovely even if I burnt it LOL:o

My ex-husband...after a row...completely covered our bed in rose petals:D...funny thing was I didn't notice straight away.... I went into the bedroom to put something away in a wardrobe and could smell perfume...then I caught a glimpse of the bed...covered in rose petals. It must have taken him ages to do...
My partner now...he does thing all the time...not exactly romantic, but caring. Makes dinners now and then...always takes the bins out, makes me cups of tea, gets the washing in, basically follows me around and asks me is there anything he can do...I often wonder what he's after...;).:D.

After almost a year together, we couldn't spend my birthday/ new year's eve together , as he had to look after his then 4-year old daughter. I was crushed, I soo wanted him to come with me and meet my dad and friends... he gave me a brown envelope with the strict instruction of not opening it up until my birthday... when I did, there was a big studio picture of him (he had taken a few with he band he used to play with then) and he wrote: ' To my Darling A: I told you I would be here!!! Happy birthday my love'- 5 years later it still brings tears to my eyes... he is just so special, the most incredible and gorgeous man on earth...on a day to day basis, he brings me lemon water to bed most mornings if I am finding it hard to get up...
  • another one that I remember wih a lot of wonder was the dinner he prepared and for which he covered the table with the dried roses out of bunch we had at home... with candles . The effect was just magical...what a man I have!

You lucky lot - my OH is the least romantic person in the world

About the only romantic thing he has ever done was on our third date, he bought me a bottle of my favourite perfume. That was almost three years ago.....!!!
