Anyone tried horse riding in one or bicycle riding? I do a lot of both so would need it to be comfortable when doing this.
Thanks in advance0 -
I bought one a few years ago and it was really painful to remove. Bought one very recently in order to save money and the planet. A lot more comfortable now, not least because the stem is now ribbed (the smooth stem made it near impossible for me to remove.

think its great now, I just insert or remove it whilst sitting on the loo.
so easy !:T
Just got my Mooncup and this is my first day of trying it.
Got it in OK, but removing it a few hours ago was tricky. I did manage it, but only after I had removed my shoes and trousers and was in a squatting position. Which is a bit of a hassle each time.
Am I missing something? There must be an easier way. Or is it just one of those things that you find the 'knack' of after a few uses?
ETA: Although, I must admit, it is more comfortable than I expected, and I LOVE not wearing a sanitary pad! Especially in this heat! I haven't had any leaks either (I put a pantyliner on, just in case).February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

what was the problem, suction holding it in, or just the fact you couldnt get a hold?
if it was due to suction, you need to break the seal. usually just grabbing the bottom of the bowl and squeezing it, or tipping it on the diagonal is enough, so you sort of pull it out one side first
if it was because you couldnt get hold, then it is just learning the nack of bearing down so you can push it into reach. ive been using my mine for 10yrs, and the majority of the time i can get it out first go, but occasionally even i have to take a deep breathe, relax and think about what im pushing with, to be able to get a good hold on the base.
pulling the stem doesnt work for me, i have to be able to get hold of the base. the stem can help pull it down a bit if its gone up quite high (think ive got short fingers lol), but to remove i need to be able to reach the base

Hi Flea,
Thanks for your response.
Yes, it was getting a good grip, at the same time as releasing the suction which I found difficult. But, I have now found a way to do it more easily. I also find pinching/grabbing the base the best way. Whenever I tried to slide a finger beside it, I couldn't then grip it at the same time to pull it out! lol. So this way is much better.
Have been fine since. The only problem I had is that I was quite gassy on Sat night/Sun morning. Well, it was trapped wind and I think the Mooncup was trapping it more, and it made it very uncomfortable. Anyway, I removed it for the day yesterday, and now all is good again.

hi ladies
I have a quick question for experienced mooncuppers. I'm nearing the end of my first period using the mooncup, loving it so far, got to grips with it pretty quickly. My question is, do you sterilise your mooncup at the end of each period? I'm a bit uneasy about leaving it for 3 weeks, even after giving it a thorough wash, but the instructions seem to suggest it's not necessary to sterilise it each month?

If you're worried how about pouring some hot water over it in the sink instead? A good halfway measure IMO although I'm no microbiology expertWeight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0

But personally, I do. I use the "boil it for 5 minutes" method.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Thanks for the swift reply
i wasn't worried about it being sterile when using it, more about nasties growing while it was being stored. I think i'll probably go with the boil method before i put it away for the month. Thanks again
