I got one recently after reading the positive comments here and following some of the links posted here. <a blog-type one, and the Mooncup website - thanks for the links!> On the whole - great. Slight leakage at times, but that could be me getting used to it and it being in not quite in the right position sometimes. It's only been a few days and I'm still a learner! :)
  • I swear by mine - had it after no 1 child was born. Now they've put the coil back in last week chances are it won't get much usage any more. They are guaranteed for a length of time for defects too - mine was just replaced a couple of months back since the latex was eroded and they didn't think it should be. Sent it off and a new one came back within a week. Fab. That said, the new one is a slightly different design and took a month to get used to! Go buy one, and spread the word!

I love mine - altho i haven't used it that much due to lack of periods from pregnancies and breastfeeding :D

I also use cloth pads at the end of my period on *light* days - made most of mine myself out of old sheets ;) they are really comfy
:rotfl:five children? I must be mad........ :rotfl:

Okay, so I'm almost convinced, I'm SO over tampons and I'd really like to order a Mooncup, but before I do, a few really quick questions:

    1) do you sleep with it in?
    2) can you swim in one?
    3) do you need liners in case of leakage, or is it really that good? (I'm so sick of constantly using liners and tampons 'cause I get so many leaks...)
    4) could I use it on holiday, on the beach?

    Thanks girls!

    xx

    Saver Sarah,

    1. Yes, I always sleep in mine
    2. Yes, but some people don't like to, but no reason why not
    3. I never use liners. I suppose I could at night on the first night, but can't be bothered. Try a cloth pad too if you think you'll need it.
    4. I wouldn't use anything else on holiday!

If it helps, I was away with a whole group of ladies and we only had composting toilets (eurgh!) We all managed with our Mooncups as lots of us needed them that weekend. Go for it!

I used to sleep and swim with mine in, and never needed liners.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.
  • I just bought one and am waiting to use it for the next "time"!! From what I've heard it's really good! Only thing now is what to do with all the products I've got left around!!

Try donating them to a hospital or women's refuge, once you're sure you won't need them any more.
