it comes with a little cotton bag, so after each period i sterilise it and then pop it in my handbag so i'm never without it!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

Blimey, used mine for the first time today (trimmed the 'tail' to a 1/4 inch as suggested) insertion was easy then after 5 hours I tried to take it out and couldn't. So left it for an hour, tried again - still no joy.
Finally, on the fourth attempt I managed to get enough of a grip of it to release!
Phew!
Due to poor gynae history I don't like to use tampons so am certainly going to persevere with it - I am just SO grateful that I didn't have to ask for help from mum or a doctor!!!Piggypoints - 207+£10 * Quidco - £95 * Tesco - 1095 * Sainsbugs - 4237I SHALL be debt free!!!!!:D

you just need to make sure you break the seal properly otherwise it won't budge. i find that it works best to pinch the bottom of it together and twist it a little and this does the job and i can get it out. took me a while to get the hang of it. i remember sitting on the loo at OH's parents house almost crying with mounting panic wondering what i should do if i couldn't get it out :rotfl:Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

Also had that panic!!
I found 'pushing down' as you grab it ( as if you were having a poop, sorry!!!) helps when the panic starts to rise. Also, if you need a poop then wait until afterwards to remove the cup.
*never said poop, ever, in real life - now decided I find the word funny (childish that I am) and will have to look for a situation whereby I can say it!*0 -
I've just finished my first period using my mooncup and I have to say it's been a very different experience.
I am very happy overall, but need to practise resting it in the correct place, that could be uncomfortable, otherwise I didnt know it was there!
One thing, I didnt experience any cramp, was that the mooncup or just my body taking pity on me for once?0 -

Have been using mine for a few years now. I also find I get less cramps, and I don't have to worry if I can't change it as often as I used to with sanitary towels. Plus its nice to know its good for the environment, and has saved me money!
Edited to add:
I have found the best way to insert it is to wet the mooncup with warm water or lubricant, then fold it in half. Personally I found I have to push it as far as it will go, but its best to have it as low down as you can without it 'poking' you.
As for removal, pushing down on it until you can firmly hold the stem, then wiggling the stem until the cup is low enough for you to gently squeeze and brake the seal. I find wiggling it side to side until its out is better than pulling straight down.If it hurts no-one, let it be :beer:0
