I completely agree with this review. However I would like to alert anyone using this firm and Goldcars in
Alicante of their blatant SCAM.. when you hire a car from JETCAR they also sell your insurance which is supposed to cover you for everything when you collect car. However when you arrive at the GOLDCAR desk in Spain they wont hand over the car unless you take out their insurance which I had to do ( another 60 euro).
To make matters worse they also make you pay 80 euro for a tank of petrol and do not refund any of it when you return the car. I returned the car half full but they then pointed out their very small print which states they do not refund petrol. I heard of some people who returned cars with a full tank only to be told they are not entitled to any refund.
In summary I would never do business with CARJET or GOLDCAR. What you save on the car you pay via the SCAMS0 -
Don't know if they operate from where you are flying to but from memory Sixt want an empty tank back so not good.
Europcar want a full tank so okay.0 -

Try this lot.....

But.....their car hire is a lot more expensive !!!
I don't use them for that reason.
Some of the car hire companies will offer a full / full if you a only hiring for 2 or 3 days.......its usually in the small small print cos they don't like doing it.
I was over there ( Murcia ) last week and on a Ford Ka was charged 45 euros for petrol. You could fill the blessed thing twice over a garage.
They are all getting clever with this fuel charge because when you book and pay for your car with say www.economycarhire.com know where does it tell you what you will be charged for fuel.....so you cant compare fuel charges.
Some of the bigger cars have a charge of up to 80 eros for a tank of fuel/0 -
Not sure about the airports you mention, but when we hired a car from Reus with Auriga Crown booked through Economy in the summer for a week they had a full to full fuel policy.0

Just back from Tenerife South. Fell for the same "should of read tiny print" scam. GOLDCAR again..through AUTO EUROPE. Avoid like the plague. Charged 60 euro for a Clio,so given it's a 11 gallon tank you do the maths.Your shafted twice with this scam by being charged £5 a gallon for petrol that you're never going to use unless you cover 600 km.Absolutely disgusting.
After looking again AUTO RIESEN do a pay-what-u-use policy.Big up to them for not clagging to this low-life scam.0 -
Just logged into MSE to find the answer to this exact question. We were caught by Goldcar in Majorca in april this year, it cost us 95E to fill up a diesel citroen berlingo, and as a result I will be voting with my feet and not using Goldcar again. Please post on here with your fuel specific experiences and together we can avoid the rip off merchants.0

Yet again - it's not a 'scam' or a 'ripoff' if it was in the terms or conditions that you agreed to upon booking.
You *did* read them, right? From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.

That's just the thing about scams and rip offs, they're not.People just DON'T read the small print.0

These are not scams
Definition of scam : a fraudulent business scheme
However they are a rip off
Definition of rip off : A product or service that is overpriced or of poor quality.
It doesn't matter what it says in the terms and conditions charging 60 euros for a tank of fuel for a Ford KA is a rip off.0 -

Really? Petrol in Andalucia has been reported as being around the 1.10EUR mark per litre. 1.10 times 40 is 44 Euro. Being charged 60 (someone has to go and fill the car up, after all!) Euro for a full tank doesn't strike me as being a 'rip off' at all - in fact, the convenience of picking up a car without needing to find a petrol station seems to be worth 16 euro alone.
Anyway, if you don't like it - book with someone else! From Poland...with love.
