  • When trying to contact lots of financial help yesterday I was advised that when getting back in contact with scottish widows and emailing them ( as they request on their generic letter) that we all should write COMPLAINT across the top of email and on envelope of letter ....BY LAW they apparently cannot ignore this then and have to investigate and get back to us.

If anyone gets anywhere then please let us all know, I for one was told yesterday that even the office next door to the demutualisation office don't get any response or acknowledgments to their emails and cannot speak to them in person??? Don't these people have a tea room or canteen where they pass each other!

This has got to go further.
  • Just a thought, but i remember being offered a VIP account with SW in which to put my 'windfall' - perhaps that's why some of you dont have records of cashing a cheque?

My mil is certain she didnt have a VIP account either. It seems to me there are lots of people being told they have had cheques and I find it difficult to believe everyone has simply forgot about a cheque. My mil apparently had a cheque for over £3000 and she would definitely remember that.

    PM sent

I've had no reply to my e-mail. It's a bit annoying - would be a nice new table and chairs when I get it...

Well I have emailed them and forwarded details of my 2 policies and told them I am also checking statements from the bank as from the late 90's before they try fobbing me off.

Not saying I will get any joy though.......

    Good luck to you all.

Even though I completed the online form as well in November, just thought I would now send them an email as well, so curious about this since reading all your posts.

Yes they should follow these procedures and not ignore, so I totally agree with you.

Although I'm not expecting them to respond to my email to be honest, we shall see shall we?;)

    Good luck with this.

Well, I sent an email as soon as I read their letter last week. Having realised that time may well be running out, I have written a letter and sent it by Special Delivery asking for details of this elusive cheque. If I hear of anything I will post it here (although I am not holding my breath). Isn't it about time that Martin gets onto this???
