  • I inherited my Mums scottish Widows savings will i be entitled to refund?

    Taken from their website :-

Yes – any money due to qualifying members who are now deceased will be payable to their estate. Please contact us if you think your deceased spouse/relative may have been due a windfall payment. Please be aware that in order to be sure we are paying out to the correct person, we may need to see certain documentation before we can release the funds.
  • How about pensions - does anyone know if they qualify?

I assume as i still have have the same policy with scottish widows running since 1998, they have my address and i would have already had a payout in the past if i had been entitled to one.
  • How is a 'qualifying member' defined?

If you put a claim in using their online form, click the "Important Notes - Data Protection Notice" drop-down bit (bottom right-hand side) and check the box to stop you from receiving spam.
  • Had an endowment policy running from 1994 to this year when i surrended it due to being out of work. Wonder if i qualify.
If you don’t speculate, you can’t accumulate.
  • I received last week the nice and unexpected sum of £1740.28, and couldn't have come at a better time.

Could you let us know what sort of policy you had and if it is still running. I had an endowment policy from 1994 to this year which i surrendered due to money issues. Just wondering if its worth chasing.

  • can anyone remember if, when we had the payout originally, that it could be transfered to a VIP Premier Account - i have one but cant remember if that is why i opened it way back when.

I have just written to Scottish Widows to cash my Father-in-Laws Pension in as he recently passed away. Would we still be entitled to obtain the extra payment to the estate?
