I've got some old unused oil for a petrol engined car in the garage so I'll add it to the mix to see if it runs ok.0

I know that if you leave used petrol-engined motor oil for months on end it will eventually settle out (some firms centrifuge it) and can be re-used as lube for an engine you don't particularly care about. From what I've seen with my old used diesel-engined motor oil, it never clears up, as there is probably too much suspended soot in it (probably metallic particles too) because of the detergent content in diesel oils. For that reason I'd be leary of using it in a diesel engine as fuel. I might try it, but only if I could filter it to within an inch of its life- like 1 micron.

Not only that, was trying not to say anything until I had a chance to get to Tescos in the morning lol.
Sign in one local store says HOLD on the shelf. Think they may have noticed and not be restocking till it's changed (should be 28p off, not 28p a bottle).0 -
Decided against the wmo- knowing my luck I'll get dipped with a small trace in the tank. Shame really as I've got some old auto gear box oil as well.0

I'm the same, as in no luck and would probably get dipped.
Went to another local Tesco, theres a withdrawal note on the shelf stating product withdrawal due to wrong price. Even says 28p on the shelf sticker.
Looks to have been at 17:00 last night, ah well, theres always next time.0 -
I've still got plenty in the garage thats ready to go. I've also got lots of palm oil which I ran on last summer (high summer) with no problems but most of it is still solid even though it has been pretty hot here. I may take outside into the sunshine in black bin liners for a few hours and then filter it straight away into cubies and add 5% petrol, leaver over night and see what happens to it. I haven't tried blending wvo with petrol or anything outside the tank. I have topped up a tank with dino and let it mix itself. Whats the worse that can happen?0

My father is vaguely interested in buying an old Vectra B diesel, maybe 2.0 or 2.2 DTi, are these any good for veg? Couldn't find much online...0

No good on veg- all need twin tanking.

There are four old vectra models that are good though. All 1.7 with bosch pumps up to 1999.0 -
Now into my second tank of 100% wvo this year and everything is running fine. Looking forward to going on a Sunday drive this weekend as the temp is expected to hit the high 20c's on the south coast so it should fly in the heat. Going to do a veggie road trip late July (will be carrying a spare filter this time!) so will be stockpiling and filtering a new supply over the weekend so I have enough to last me out the summer.0
