Running my Vauxhall Astra on veg oil

Wife put £10 in it when it was nearly empty because she was going somewhere and I topped that up with 24 litres of veg but not 100% yet.0

Thats the 25% diesel 75% veg oil down to only about 5 litres left in the tank (going by the gauge which wont be very precise). I'm just filtering around 20 litres and will put it in without diesel.
I have to say, It's getting slightly harder to keep running in the morning with the 25/75. Still starts no probs but will cut out the first couple of times if you dont rev it slightly. Similar to 50/50 on a cold morning.
I've also noticed the smell is more like a dirty chip pan now lol.
Total mileage is now nearly 1500.
I've decided to hit the merc/pickup idea on the head for now. Why spend money when I dont have to. To compensate, I'm gonna stick a towbar on the corsa. Should be ok to tow up to 1/2 a ton(which is what any trailer I'll have on can take anyway).0 -

Just going to take a little time.0 -
My next fill will be 20/80 sometime next week. Have other problems at the moment with the gear box, it now crunches like a b@stard when I try to select reverse to the extent tonight I couldn't park up properly and changing down when driving had got increasingly hard over the past few days especially 3rd to second. The gear box doesn't feel anywhere as smooth as it use to. If I pop it into reverse on the drive before starting there is no problem but with the engine running it just grinds away.0

Try adjusting the clutch on the cable (guessing it is a cable)0

Look at the 3 pedals. Are they all level? or is the clutch lower than the other 2. I've had to adjust the slack in the Corsa recently, i also done it in an older astra I had years ago.
I unbolted the fuel filter housing to get access, moved some pipes out the way, got my spanners, then realised I was able to do it by hand lol.
Just turn it till the pedals are level again. Heres hoping.
Just to add, I put diesel in it today as it cuts out too much when starting from cold and tickover is VERY lumpy/about to cut out. I'm going to stick around 25/750 -
I had the clutch cable replaced a month a go when it snapped by the RAC- do you think it has streched a little bit over the month and this is the problem- I couldn't face having to get anew gearbox !0

Are the pedals level? If not, it's probably adjustment thats required.0
-
Its in the garage now having a new cable fitted as the pedals weren't level.0
-
You said it was a new cable, all it took was to adjust the nut at the end of the cable on the gearbox arm.0
