silent scope - welcome to MSE. What's happened for you to be so annoyed at Euro Car Parks? Apart from being given a worthless ticket, obviously.

If you need help or have questions please feel free to post them but making posts such as these aren't really helping anyone. If you're having trouble with the forum or need help posting please send me a PM :)

What is wrong with charging someone to park on land you own? What I do disagree with are the penalties they charge if you infringe any of their rules. (yes I do know penalties are not allowed in contracts)

I really need some help and advise.... I recieved 3 seperate 'Parking charge notices' from Euro car parks wanting £70 each.. The reason for this is because at my college there is not enough spaces so we tend to park in morrisons. There are notices advising about the 2hour stay but each time I was only over by 30 minutes. The issues I have is that I clearly can not afford to pay these, also when entering morrisons they have cameras that take a front on picture of your car(wihich means you can sort of see the driver and passenger. Please tell me if I am required to pay these. I have read previous post but I wanted to tell my story incase any of this is different to others. A responca would be much appreciated :D Thanks

I need some help! My hubby parked in Morrison's car park while at college - college car park full.... - and we have yesterday received one of the parking charges for £70 (if we pay within 7 days). I have read through the different examples that have been listed but have not noticed one where someone has parked for too long. My hubby says that he didnt know that there was a time constraint on the parking. Lots of people have suggested do nothing or write back but I dont know what to do....we are in Scotland (in case that makes any difference for this type of charge. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you:j

Was it the morrisons at telford college?? That is where I got mine and I am unsure what to do??

    Hi Ash,

Please IGNORE these worthless PPC tickets, they are totally unenforceable, throw them away and ignore and further communication they send out to you.

DO NOT PAY, they cannot make you either, only ones issued by your council or the police are payable, this is from a private company

so IGNORE it completely, and continue to park there as they cannot stop you :j:j:T

Also there is a parking problems forum on here so why not have a browse there?

Whilst this is technically correct they can cause you a lot of grief and there have been cases where very persistent (30 tickets or so) have been taken to court cos this is taking the mick.

I have just recieved my second letter from euro car parks advising that I have not paid and ue to this I now owe £90 for each ticket(I got 3) They have said that if i do not pay within 28 days my details will be sent to debt collectors and may recieve further charges... Please help as I am worried that this will happen. I cannot afford to pay these fines and I understand what everyone is saying but im jus really worried as it is my parents house that they will turn up at... Please let me know what I should, or should not do?? Thanks x

I presume you've seen this: Euro Car Parks Letterchain

They aren't fines - the situation is that Euro Car Parks feel you owe them money. As you do not agree with their sentiment, they will have to make a court claim and they would have to prove they are entitled to this money. As far as I'm aware, they have not taken a single person to court yet despite their constant talk of court action etc.

joke company euro car parks who run the sainsburys car park where i went at 1.30pm today to buy a telephone after looking at the section could not see any so asked attendant if they had any only to be told this store does not do them so with no longer than 5mins spent in the shop we left the car park and went home had to pick son up returned to car park at 4.55pm to do weekly shop returned to car 18.10 to find a ticket on our car timed 13.36-17.00 so went looking for car park attendant to sort this out but told by a sainsburys worker they finish at 5pm will need to return and sort out ticket tomorrow and boy will i .
they state no return within 3 hours on the sign so how do they know what time you leave the car park surely the ticket is null and void for the reason that they cannot prove when you left the first time against what time you came back .
if this not sorted they will be hearing off trading standards and a letter of complaint to sainsburys who would of lost a customer.
what a stupid policy anyway so you do your shop and find that you forgot something but cant go back until the 3 hours is up even then you run the risk of a ticket
