    hello
I wonder if anyone can help please. I took my daughter to sainsburys to buy some dressings for her feet- she had toe nails removed 10 days ago and not healing well. I parked in the nearest place, disabled parking bay, at 17.27 odd; went in with her steadily; shopping receipt shows exit at 17.33 with plasters (and cheeky bottle of wine for me). Returned to europarks notice of £50 on windscreen for non displayed badge.(issued 17.29)

Have I got a leg to stand on (no pun intended) in claiming temporary disabled? I have letters/dates etc from hospital about her procedure and sainsbury's receipt for dressings.

Any help would be gratefully received- it's been a bleak January!

Read the previous posts and those on the parking forum and you will see its safe to ignore them.

But still rude to park in the disabled bay.

Except for the fact that those bays have nothing to do with the blue badge scheme and the the poster states that they had a person with a problem limiting their walking.

If the person did have difficulty walking why should it be considered rude to park there?

Agree 100%, never do it myself, but its done now. Expect poster will not do it again.

Why not? Because one of your mates stuck an unenforceable parking invoice on their car? I doubt that toothless threat scares anyone with any knowledge of the shady, immoral PPC industry.

If you mean because the person who was unable to walk has recovered, or is not in the car, then yes, I would hope they wouldn't use those bays either.

Having read through this thread and others about Euro Car Parks I understand the advice to ignore the "charge notice".

However, my problem is that I was in a vehicle hired from a car club (Streetcar) when I was issued my notice because ECP considered my vehicle to be "commercial" which is against the conditions of use of the car park.

I didn't consider my vehicle to be commercial so I'm not willing to pay, however, the registered keeper of the vehicle is the car club and their advice is as follows:
If we receive notification for parking tickets, clamping fines, bus lane fines, compound charges, etc. we will either pay them and add the cost along with a processing fee to your monthly bill, or transfer liability to you making you wholly responsible for the charge.

That's fine if they transfer liability to me (although annoying as ECP get my address), but potentially frustrating if Streetcar pay up and then charge me.

Has anyone else had a similar situation with a hire vehicle in one of these car parks?

    Many thanks

I suspect it will come down to if the company thinks "this charge is !!!!!!!! and its going in the bin" or "we know this is !!!!!!!! and it would normally go in the bin, but we know we can pay it and then get some extra cash from the poor sucka too"

Could you request that the club transfers responsibility to you rather than deal with it themselves? IE tell them that you won't pay the invoice (it's not a fine) if they pay it on your behalf. Then you can sit back and ignore the threats.
